Another Pc Help Thread
Well dear e+ community i was thinking to buy a hyper super pc
so here is my proposal at this point: (i am not sure if i should use quad core or dual core for games like crysis fear and assasin creed and so on )
so:
motherboard: EVGA nForce 780i SLI
processor: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9450 Overclocked
RAM: 4GB CORSAIR XMS2 DDR2 (TWIN2X4096-6400C5 G)
GPU: 2x NVIDIA GeForce 9800GTX (2x 512MB GDDR-3, SLI)
or
2x NVIDIA GeForce GTX 280 (2x 1024MB GDDR-3, SLI)
thats the most important things
as i said
i am not sure if i should use quad core or dual core (for gaming and programmning is the way i ll use my pc for the next...hm.. 4 years )
core duo procs are best for actual games (e8500)..
but next generation games are optimized for quads...
ex: supreme commander, Alan Wake and Lost Planet, all games that support unreal engine 3.0.... maybe crysis with the next episode.

i watched the future & i bought a 9450 2 weeks ago.. now lil overclocked (@ 3500) under rampage formula and bla bla.. nothing to say..xp64 works very good
next step: 2x ati 4870 in crossfire and a MR. overclock :Q__
sorry 4 my eng riku

Use dual core if you need PC for games etc. Motherboard with chipset P35/X38/X48, nForce isn't best choose for Intel platform. Also Radeon HD 4850 looks now much better than nVidia offer in this price. I'd also choose another RAM if you gonna overclock, like G.Skill PQ or Mushkin Redline.

you cant provide it.
for motherboard i'll Council Asus.
2048 for graph? damn im sure you will be able to play with bfp
Orby how do you have 4gb of ram with xp?
yeahh monk, 4x1024 ocz under xp x64 edition
Quiet as you said, nice orby
4x1024 on 32 = 3x1024 =1024 in vista
the new 4870x2 released last week also owns
it owns in high res high aa and high fsaa

Quad is nonsense now a days, dual core is enough but deffinetly not intel AMD x2 beats the crap out of intel in the price/performance ratio, not to mention intel lacks HTT in dual core cpu's which makes it jerky in games. And stick to berts suggestion,if u want a lightning fast pc consider 4870X2 (at least one) and a raid-0 array or something better,SRAM or solid state drive (SSD) if u really got cash to spend.4870 X2 owns in crysis too ,>

O lol, say it was irony. Show me test where AMD dual cores owns Intel. It's possible only in the lowest price range, (and we see that Riku is looking for something more expensive) and definitely not after o/c, cuz as everyone know AMD suck ass in this case and every overclocked intel dual core own any AMD in everyway.

an 174 euro amd cpu beats a 750 euro intel

2 screens below, amd on par with intel same pricerange.
i got a link somewhere, where amd is beating intel in games.
alot of stuff is intel optimized.
there are benchmarks that are so fucked up, that if you fake the amd cpu for an intel cpu, the amd cpu suddenly can do 10% better in that benchmark.
2 weeks a new set of mobo's have been released, they make it possible for most 9950 phenoms to run 3200mhz. some 3ghz just with stock voltage.
well so it seems i am going for
the ati hd blabla gpu :>
would be E8500 dual core be good? and what mobo would me be the best for it which can take everything out of the processor
