I have a mixed attitude towards the game...
It's mostly point A, as I love finding and improving new ways of achieving the original target of the game (kill fred from acrross the world with a railgun), yet when Im playing with good people, I always try to contribute and even get pissed off when I fail at it... hence I end up self-criticising, like (aah man... Robbo's kicking ass and Im only getting killed... this "*"-named player has more unfreezes than me... all that)...
ANd finally, I love being the freelance-ass kicker on the team... but those dont come too often, as you need to work in a team... most times this happens to people (when i see it), that are named "lemlin" "gigafrost" or "zack@tired" (not forgetting .ncro@drugZ and "shady's_ugly_panda" ^^), but when i get to be a big boi on a TDM server full of less-experienced players, it rocks

Well to be honnest, the more I play E+ -and the better (dellusionaly) I play-, the less fun I have...

I mean I can be on the zombie freezer and have 60 kills and 20 thaws in 20 minutes and people saying "wow evil mofo" (yeah I know dellusional again ) and really not enjoy it other than for the pwning which is not the greatest fun to be honnest...
Or I can go round to some random Baseq3 ctf server as I did today, get my arse whooped and handed over to me but have mad fun like 10000 times more than I could have had in E+..

To be honnest I feel E+ has become a Total conversion more than a mod now and I love quake and the more I play E+, and the more my skills improve, the less I feel I'm playing Quake...

I don't know maybe it's just me but maybe not... Just my point of view, please don't flame...

I kind of feel the same but in different way. If I go to some server which has only newbies playing and I win, it doesn't feel good at all. Usually most of players leave the server after few games and soon I'm alone in the server. In those situationts I feel like I'm hated.

If I play against some of the top players, I many times get frustrated when the game gets too serious. When I see only multiple trick shots, so accurate aiming that its nearly unreal and I can't see the enemy because he is moving so fast, I feel like giving up. It feels like the winning is the most important thing there and it's not fun at all. Worst thing is that when I lose, I feel like crap. And I always lose against the top players.

In the middle ground, between those two groups the game is truly fun. There you don't have to sweat if you screw up. There the players don't take it so seriously and you can play as you feel. I don't mind at all losing there because winning is not the thing. There people play just for fun.

So eventually it depends on other people what kind of experience I get. I don't ever go to 1v1 servers if there is some really good player waiting because I know it's not going to be fun. It's not going to be fun even if I win the game. Mostly I like public servers which has mixture of newbies and some more experienced players because there the playing is most relaxed.
