Ok now I see I misunderstood the point of these sounds and after I got it now I see that had to be done on purpose, not "to make the game look better", you're right, Equinox.

But also you didn't got my point, Darky. The hq textures gave a very little advantage too, on dm8 or dm11 [I'll never remember which one is dm8 and which one is dm11] with hq pack I noticed I seen enemy more clearly from some points. Unfair advantage. Dozens of people to be punished. Thank you.

Of course I know nobody's gonna get punished, that was about unconscious unfair advantage. But now I realized sound pack isn't that much "unconscious" as I used to think.

Wow finally I understand why some players can hear so exceptionally good that it seems freaking unreal! I always thought that they got the volume at such a high level that their eardrum must burst.
