Hello, music lovers

As many people, i love listen music while playing excessive. It seems simple thing on windows with foobar audio player. It have working hot-keys even then q3 is in full-screen mode.

But with windows is done, I'm using linux.
Now on Linux music-players hot-keys works only then user is @ opened music-players window. So i setup desktop managers hot-keys(fluxkeys; cause I'm using fluxbox) to change song, seek, volume etc. Its working to me at any situation, EXCEPT not then q3 is in full-screen mode !!

Whats left more ? I'm noticed, then q3 is full-screen mode, alt+shift kb.layout changer is working. So i think there is left only xbindkeys to setup. I need help here, did someone already done something similar ?

I store all my music on my iPhone. I put iPhone in cradle and listen to the music. I control music playing by touching the display by fingers e.g. when i'm frozen in q3 or something else... Big grin

You know You lucky one (:
Yea it is possible to put all music into Cd's and then throw into a CD player, and so use a remote controller - at frozen moments.. But that's no good at late night time :] and my CD player almost cant read Cd's ;B

em q3 can write a cfg's on the fly so idea is:
-bind something: writeconfig nextsong.txt ..and so on
-and then make some script somehow that will do a song change cmd if ...
-blah wrong idea...

maybe build some .pk3... any suggestions more ?

kazi oi plem..
maybe set it up a bind key in
/etc/inittab

as all know there is something in it like:

Quote:
# What to do when CTRL-ALT-DEL is pressed.
ca:12345:ctrlaltdel:/sbin/shutdown -t1 -a -r now

so i will look for more info. Can't try now..so much later

LOL I did that via blue-tooth
i even can control my desktop now, mouse, webbrowswing.. with my sony e k700,
it has cool interface to control media player too - but for me its kinda WERRY weird , + uncomfortable,- cause now
while frozen i cannot write sms... (without turning off bluetooth control..). So i just tryed..its fun, em and cool thing hmn for movie control i suppose.
Mad idea: i will try to control quake aiming with my mobile..

I use the following with winamp.
Just put it into your config.

bind "KP_5" "ping 127.0.1.1" ; //play
bind "KP_DEL" "ping 127.0.2.1" ; //stop
bind "KP_INS" "ping 127.0.3.1" ; //pause
bind "KP_LEFTARROW" "ping 127.0.4.1" ; //Rewind
bind "KP_RIGHTARROW" "ping 127.0.5.1" ; //Forward
bind "KP_UPARROW" "ping 127.0.4.2" ; //Previous
bind "KP_DOWNARROW" "ping 127.0.5.2" ; //Next
bind "KP_PGUP" "ping 127.0.4.3" ; //Begin of list
bind "KP_PGDN" "ping 127.0.5.3" ; //End of list
bind "KP_MINUS" "ping 127.0.6.25"; //Volume down
bind "KP_PLUS" "ping 127.0.7.25"; //Volume up

This way I just use the keys on the number pad during gameplay to control my playlist.
