Logitech G9
I have met G9 in Media Markt. Indeed, its smaller then 510/518/G5. It seems too small for my preferences. 510 fits perfect for my hand. Though its two different things, holding a mouse in store and while gaming. Hard to say definitely without trying it on gaming for at least an hour or two.
More important is fact that sensor is still skipping. Logitech didn't work out better laser then in G5. If loosing traction problem will confirm in some other reviews, I am afraid I will have to wait for next generation of laser mice.
Two reviews below
noone needs this.... i have MX510, ist best mouse ever, never had a problem with it and 100€ is too expensive for a mouse.. for this price you can buy a mainboard, omg
I never ever had traction loss with even my old optical mouse. I think it's something only low sens players encounter. Vanguard, I didn't see those articles you linked saying that a G9 skips. I don't see the point in having a 3200 dpi mouse and using it in 200 dpi setting only to get a lower sensitivity. Perhaps dpi settings are a factor in traction loss.
Skull: You're talking nonsense. I played with a 20 year old ball mouse for a few days after my mouse broke, and I could get 70 rail acc with it for a period. But I could not take the harder shots. And not shooting instead of maybe a miss is better for your acc, but not better for your game. It's still a fact that an optical is more precise and a G9 even more precise. You will get higher accuracies in the meaningful sense with a more accurate mouse.

ur talking nonsens, hard shots are also possible with a ballmouse, i got expirience with that belive me.
real aim is about clicking when u gonna hit and not about mouse.
also lowsens is made through low sens settings and high dpi and not low dpi ;d
dpi is more or less the real mouse sensitivity, all beyound or below is only software pixel reduction

At very low sensitivities, the mouse will skip if moved quickly. When I say very low sensitivities, I mean low in-game sensitivity, perhaps combined with a low DPI setting...

True second review don't mention skipping problem but it's no gamer's test. It seems more like description, not pro-like test which we can find for other mice models.
Sure it happens often with low sens, like mine 40 cm. With yours 4 cm it will never happen.
You should always use highest dpi the mouse offers, I am talking about in-game and driver sensitivity.
Odd Vanguard, I read that part too, but did't got the impression he actually tested it.
Since we all agree one should use the highest dpi setting a mouse offers, I wonder why all gaming mice have adjustable dpi settings at all.

This explains of course why all noobs with autoshoot are owned by good players.

Because some have shitty sensors, like, for example, my X-750F. It's not a bad mouse, and as long as i don't use higher DPI then 1600 i honestly can't complain about it's quality. But on the highest setting of 2500 DPI, combined with my high sensitivity preference, it starts to skip pixels, badly.
Perhaps it happens only in combination with a too low USB polling frequency?

2500dpi in this mouse it get by interpolation every 5th pixel is skipped - 4 pixels + 1 interpolated. If i good remmber ur mouse is based on Agilent/Avago ADNS-6010 same like in g3/g5, copperhead, habu. Max res of this sensor is 2000dpi. Heres some infos about modes in ur mouse:
2500 DPI - interpolation 4+1
2000 DPI - whithout interpolation
1600 DPI - whithout interpolation
1200 DPI - interpolation 2+1
800 DPI - whithout interpolation
600 DPI - interpolation 2+1
