for people that dont know what skull is showing, its a furmark donut:

maybe cleaning will help? i cleaned my old 6800 in the past and once 70% of airflow was blocked by dust.
sometimes even reseating gpu solves problems.

i had that problem too, i did a format c and while i did it. the strange squarish pattern of stripes still was there. After a while i did actally disappear. And when i reinstalled the drivers and rebooted a few times it went away and now i have a nice and crystal clear screen.

Ooh i've made like 2 format c's, earlier when i did had this problem. I dont know why i get it... hardware? software? or is the gfx-card malfunctioning?

You know when its psyen (:

no, reseat. Tongue
take it out, clean the contacts, and put it back in.

since its passive gpu card, high chance its burned chips of flaky capacitors.
but you should try everything before buying something new, it would be waste of money if its just windows problem like psy says.

i did a lot of things now, started from completly uninstalling drivers (which dont cause the bug at all cuz its also when i just run bios) to reseat, downclock etc.
i guess i simply put to much oil for cooling and it fried instat Smug
if u need details of something, i can check.
so no other idea?

damn i should read better, in first post already you mentioned that it showed up in bios. try clean the bios and if that doesnt help, the gpu card is toast.
hmm, could the ram in your comp do it ? its stable in windows and quake ?

lol nice Big grin
my GFX card is toast too.
think some capacitors are fucked.
just using the comp like normal then all of a sudden it goes off an doesnt switch back on. could smell a funky smell from the GFX card where the capacitors are so im guessin something there is fucked..

Good thing i get 15 yr warranty with it Happy
