Hi Borgs,

Since your CTF Server is the busiest CTF E5/E5r server around, i'd like to suggest you upgrade to the 1.04 beta 5.

Reason:

There has been almost no CTF bug reports since the beta stages have gone underway, and it's likely that there won't be much more of it because all the ctf servers are empty apart from yours. Someone from Borg mentioned that they don't want to update it until the final 1.04, but seriously, I think you will be disappointed if you wait, because you will find that there will be bugs all over the place that were never reported. Of course it's up to you at the end of the day, this is just my suggestion.

ur suggestion is something that 'bothers' us for some time. but i think that your post would be more noticed if u do it on the borg forum. [thats my suggestion]
anything else u can find/ask/tell there

Hmmm well
We had an admin meeting lately and we decided 2 weeks ago that we will open our hq and upgrade that one to 1.04 ...

Now it seems there aint be a final version wen whe dont install it on our servers ....
Ofcourse we wanna help E+ out but not on this betaversion ...
The risk is to big that if something goes wrong our whole servers will be in shit then ...the servers are full for almost 20 hours a day

Its seems easy is gone for a month now again .. so let easy add me on msn so i can talk to him so we have short line troubleshoot in case something goes wrong badly
And btw maby its time to release it as beer is whole day playing on that new 1.04 mod also a full server

There are several servers such as beer and Aim that are busy all day long. These are running 1.04 with no crashing issues. It will only take a short time to upgrade and get your regular players back in there Happy

yeah thats true, 1.04beta5 servers are way more stable & fluid than 1.03 servers. You guys could give a try as you say on HQ but before doing that a small contrab saying "server will be updated soon please dwld here" can be nice to help people understand beta instalation.

says it can't parse server settings that was the message after install1.04?

any one have a solution?

Server is now .dll/.so based, you need to start it like

./q3ded +set vm_game 0 +set fs_game excessiveplus ...
quake3.exe +set vm_game 0 +set fs_game excessiveplus ...

It is ONLY E5R server, if u will vote it to e5 u will be kicked by some cool admin, without any reason... Laughing

we removed e5 from our vote conf yet its still votable. tara did not know why that was either, and i dont have the knowledge to rebuiild the server. we run e5r and only that, if u want e5 go to an e5 server.

@mow- i pasted that in msn to hammer last night. no idea if its been tried (even though its the instructions to install it, rtfm and all that Crying )

and now we are not apearing on the spider... u can see the activity drop in my sig Evil

talk with camel\, he set up his server with no problems at all. Pm him if ur able Happy my sugest

Ok the hq is now just open and taras installed 1.04
So now borg ctf 1.04 is a fact and all can come play
After a half hour playing we found some things

Chat is bugged somethimes u can chat somethimes u cant

Spec players is also bugged , somethimes u can cycle true players somethimes u cant

Disconnecting
The players are disconnecting the whole time and have to reconnect ...

exec is not displayed as my name , i have to re-exec my tag every time

This is for now on
