AMD-K7 CPU boost
Hey hey, I have some questions in connection with my old-core CPU, AMD Athlon 3200+ Barton core (11x200Mhz ~ 2200Mhz operational) with L1 64Kb and L2 512Kb and its boost feature, made by Aaron Gordon: AMD AthlonXP Optimized DLL's for Quake 3 1.32 only. Sorry I forgot the source site and there are too many broken links with it.
This is small program, only 451.2 Kbyte size and after installing it extracts the following files to baseq3 folder as default, but in our case it needed to excessiveplus folder:
-autoexec.cfg
-cgamex86.dll
-dllset.bat
-qagamex86.dll
-uix86.dll
autoexec.cfg contains the following commands:
seta com_blindlyloaddlls "1"
seta vm_ui "0"
seta vm_cgame "0"
seta vm_game "0"
In baseq3 configs and servers working like a dream, my graphics boosted with +120, in some cases with +150Fps which is a quite large boost for my old PC.
But if excessiveplus mod loaded, in some demos if I running timedemo with an average freeze tag match (4v4 or from beer recorded one with 7v7) on larger maps like ermap3, dm1++ or overkill it hardly produces the 125Fps, the end calculated score is around 120Fps only, which means I have Fps drops in-game on these maps (even worse if I'm on beer server public 7v7), but in basic maps like dm6 or dm7 the end-score is around 150Fps which is not a quite better, too.
So my problems are the followings:
- in previously versions of excessiveplus it was working fully until 2.0a, 2.1 and current, 2.2b. Now in this versions it doesn't give the boost for my FPS. I saw it automatically overwrite back to default value of the vm_game and vg_cgame.
- I know from the point of punkbuster view it finding my .dlls as a hack so I could never use this CPU boost feature in clan wars, with previous versions.
My questions are:
- is there any way to get it work again, without making pixelized blasts and fully changing back to v1.03 team overlay, noMip and using default enemy/team models and colors?
- how could it be applied by punkbuster and pure servers to be able to play at clan wars with the boost?
- what do you think overall should I forget this old-core suffering and buy a new asap? I think mostly You will offer this solution
My current PC features are: AMD AthlonXP 3200+ Barton, Abit Nf7-s v2.0, 2x512 Geil DDR1 and nVidia 6600GT 128Mb lololol What can I do if it don't wanna die and working "good" (but not enough fast ) since 2005..?
I have very thin skin left on my face to arrange with players who have more +500-600Fps powered PCs according to mine
I thought I can give maybe one more chance with this topic to my oldie, who knows maybe there are some solutions which can help me until I get my new PC
Thanks for the help in advance and I know there are some Zombie mates who maybe think I'm stoned with my problem (we talked about this buying new PC thing before but I spend that money to sport upgrades again ) but I was wondering what the other players think with this CPU-boost thing?!
Don't waste money on sports, you will hurt yourself. OT, i can't help you.

exactly ! life is to short to be slim and healthy xd get fat and lazy !! spend your money on something more important (me) xddd
omg
fps drops are e+ specific.
Maybe overclock your CPU and your VGA card. Tha Abit Mainboards have a good oc bios, and for VGA tuning use RivaTuner.
