Annoying PB spam

every time i play quake, wether offline or not, i get spammed by punkbuster every 1-2mins, i forgot what it says but its all turquoise writing and fills up whole of console, i think it tells me about updating punkbuster, but i've tried that twice and it still spams me, and if i disable it, it spams me

anyone know anything i can do?

maybe it says "only normal characters in name"?

Everyone using none standard keyboard letters in their name gets it.
If you use extended ascii you get that message.
The more characters the more warning in a row you get.
Try playing with a default name for once, see how you're not getting the message then.

Not to my knowledge. I know when pb is enabled there is an option to allow those kind of characters, and then you won't get the message.
But it also happens on pb disabled servers so i don't know what to do about that.

pb_sv_extChar 1

but anyway its not related to spaming in console :} if its set to 0,
u will be kicked from server

Not when you have pb disabled on the server right?
