@tartoros, If u are saying public games are dead u might aswell lock e+ so no new members can join.
@ pick up games, have no idea wat to do to join or play. I have no idea wat irc or mirc or wateva its called is. Im totally lost with the whole thing. 
And im sure alot of other people feel the same way but are too afraid to challenge wat they see are the people of e+ plus you dont wanna mess with. Not very fair guys bit selfish, and I know youre gonna say "No were not we will help you or anyone who wants to play it" wich is fair, but you are sub concensously excluding people youd rather not have playing in these games and thats a bit too excluding to me classing yourselves better than alot of peple in e+.
In saying that if I find out how to se it im sure ill come alon and give it a try but ive said it before and ill say it again, it all sounds a bit too "were all high and mighty to me"

Nothing more, nothing less. It has nothing to do with skill.
About "excluding" players, irc is pretty common. To tell you the truth, i haven't used it for years. I got trance to help me though and in 4 minutes i was ready. Once you made all the "pre-work" then it's just one click away.
All are welcome. There is an average of 40-50 people on irc all the time and not all are "better players".

Trance is planning to post rules and guide as far as i know. The procedure for a game is simple. It takes a bit more time than public gaming but it's definitely worth it. (ratio timewise is 3 pickup -> 4 public cause there is a short wait for players to join)

Hmmm 
I meant after trying that pickup thing, public games are dead for me. Didn't say public games are dead. (in other words: I won't join public games but stick with pickup)
As you said, try it out ;] It's still on "testing' period so there are minor issues here and there. It's a matter of time (a couple of days) before it gets 100% ok.

Yeh ill defo give it a try, sounds like a good game o quake just making point that is very true about pick up games but im not repeating it cuz i feel like im gonna offend some ppl.
Ill give it a try as soon as i know how too XD

Right did he or did he not say public games are dead, Iregardless of wether he said it in general or about his own personal opinion he still said it so ure wrong mate.
Im fed up of people jumping on bandwagons and insulting intelegince jeez. Like i said i wasnt atacking him just making a point so get off your high horse plz.

That wasnt at anyone in general just IN general at anyone else who decides to get on the bandwagon of bringing something up that was resolved for posts ago

he said that he never will play public again so fast.
and since 90 percent of ko and swe arent playing public anyways it wont hurt the community much

Ok so because 90 percent of swe and ko arent playing public then it aint worth playing then?
Dam thats exactly wat im talking about, just cuz people see them as highest clans then no one else is worthy? or for that matter worthy of playing , this is exactly wat i mean wen i say this has a scent of high and mightyness to it and it does, no question about that.
But like i said and ill repeat my self for people who dont seem to read earlier posts about high horses and bandwagons XD
IM NOT FLAMING THE IDEA IM JUST MAKING MY POINT!! But i guess if ure point isnt the same as others then it is regarded ad wrong and atacked at every corner in this comunity :roll:
Anyway if trance or someone else could be kind enough to make a post to explain how to join in on this fun and give a try plz do so I can do so and stop people atacking me for trying to view an opinion and ill just try it for myself.

pretty easy (this is the version with the mirc program, u can also use other programs for that) :
go to www.mirc.com
download mirc
start mirc
set ur name
join the quakenet (there should be some network opinion popped up)
just choose any quakenet server
wait until connection finished.
type /join #e+pickup
and ask the guys there for help how to handle irc...

just for hadz. theres nothing exclusive about pickup games. anybody can join the channel and add up for games. there will be no elitism. i think we got a bit confused about this cos of shellys topic etc etc.
also trance posted his irc tutorial thingy in the first post on this thread. but if thats not enough, we'll post detailed instructions on how to get on irc, how to add up for pickups, rules etc etc as soon as we get the whole thing settled.
in the meantime if anybody has problems connecting to irc, pls add me on msn, my id is . ill walk u through the whole process.
