awaiting connection ...
that what i have been talking about DARKY
i have the same shit...
Heiio said he found a temporary solution for this:
Heiio says (20:18):
*u go singeplayer, skirmish
*u play 15 sec
*than u put mulitplayer and it will connect
Heiio says (20:19):
*but this is not the best way
epsislow says (20:19):
*aha
*but will work?
Heiio says (20:19):
*yes
so that means try to:
1. place a singleplayer game or skirmish for a couple of seconds (15 sec)
2. then you go on the multiplayer and try to connect.
can some1 check? i don't have any problem with my awaiting connection so i can't check.
p.s. Heiio agreed for this msn conversation to be posted on forum

Just delite config.cfg from e+ and q3 folders.
tapik,
you can also move your q3config to someplace else
this way the default config will be generated by q3.. same as when you delete it..
no need to run, just walk

I can confirm that deleting q3conf.cfg from baseq3 and excessiveplus folder is the solution. At least for me. I had this problem for a week now and i tried to edit host file in system32/drivers/etc and to start quake with +set net_port 27660 but that didnt help me. So i tried with delete/move files and now i can kick asses again! xD Thanks Nosia!
I've got the same problem from about a week. Reinstall doesn't help at all.
perhaps this has something to do with q3 master server. so try to run this command [on windows systems]:
ipconfig /flushdns
if it doesn't help, then try to put following line to your x:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
file:
127.0.0.1 authorize.quake3arena.com
normally you don't need to reboot after such changes, but it might be necessary in some cases
I tried
what you wrote Heiio sometimes when I use only once / reconnect to join
me, but otherwise it does not work, I can play single player but you'd
like to have multiplayer at all then attach ..
