Binding a key to do more than 1 thing??
No it's not slipstream And would not mattrer if it is, as long as one does not use scripts that gives faster firering rate or similar, that is a bit "cheaty" imo.
Yes, opinions are mixed about using scripts. Please refer to this poll:

railswitch is lame in my opinion.. very lame
Here are two scripts Im using:
[code:1]// Railgun/BFG Switch
set wBFG "weapon 9; wait; set wSWITCH vstr wRAIL"
set wRAIL "weapon 7; wait; set wSWITCH vstr wBFG"
set wSWITCH "vstr wRAIL"
bind G "vstr wSWITCH"
// Short Pills
set spillson "weapon 2; wait; wait; +attack"
set spillsoff "-attack; wait; wait; wait; weaplast"
bind SHIFT "+vstr spillson spillsoff"
[/code:1]
When I started playing on the net I was kind of conservative about using scripts - I simply didnt use any. But then I saw many very good players using scripts. So I started thinking "why not?". But still I do have mixed feelings about that.
The railswitch I am talking about is using the fact that it is faster to switch weapons to railgun than for railgun to reload itself. So you do a script that changes weapon back to railgun before you fire and you bind this to your fire button to reduce time between railshots. IMO this was never intended and its kind of lame to use it. If you do this by hand, its a skill and go ahead
To use same button for many things is ok imo. Thats just about how you prefer to choose your weap.

Please forgive mu n00bness but where do I place the code for rail/bfg switch seems very useful for me.
Just paste it into your config. Or better - make a new config file, name it like scripts.cfg and paste it there. The only thing you will need to do will be typing in the console (after you start q3)[code:1]\exec scripts[/code:1]
Thank you made an autoexec.cfg then /exec autoexec.cfg and it loaded, had some key bind conflicts but it's fixed now.
Now I can go bfg/rail/bfg bfg/grenades/bfg and bfg/MachineGun/bfg very useful for jumps.
thanx for helping.
too much thats all taking the funn out of game but now no y people are moving like they do... Ill do things the old way....
So binding a key to do 2 things is a script? /say gen_thatsucks1.wav
