Codec problem?
hello, its not about quake or e+ so thats why i putted topic here.
so heres the problem, when im watching wmv videos then i have THIS
so my question is: WHY? is it bcuz of some wrong codecs or what?
did you try another player? try one which has its own codecs, like VLC
wmp and mpc use direct-show codecs installed on your system. perhaps, they're broken somehow. try another player with its *own* codecs - if the problem persists then it's prolly not codec-related.
you may have to install K-Lite codec pack (http://www.codecguide.com/download_k-lite_codec_pack_full.htm). Setup package has codecs/filters/decoders built-in error correction procedures during install process so you will not need to care about previous corruptions with codecs in registry/files.
Also WindowsMediaPlayerClassic included, assign it as default for all video files. Next time in case of any another program (like updates for WMP11 or other players/programs/unknown stuff) damages your splitters/directshow filters/decoders chain, just run CodecTweakTool from K-Lite installation and check boxes you need (fix..fix...fix.../reset codecs settings to its defaults). Hope it helps.
If you prefers more featured player with rich of controls UI, just install K-Lite Codec Pack in another mode (Default, but without WMPC) or if you going not only view but also create/encode your own videos, choose the full option (Lots of stuff / Lots of stuff, but without WMPC).
well, its "windows media vide" file... and i have same problem even when im watching it on windows media player =/
