Crazy page files...

I came home from work yesterday and today to find the computer my server is running on with 1.48GB of page files. I have 1 gig of ram. What could cause all the mess? Do any of you think it's the quake server or could it be something else? And if it is what could it be? I had an attack of spywhere and other crap that i couldn't deleat so i went into regedit and got them there and deleating any filders, files that was with them.

I'd run my server in linux but i dont know enough about linux to do that.

Should i just get a MAC? It was just tax season and i'm expecting some $$$ in the mail soon and every year i get a new pc, should i get a mac this year? Would it help me?

I have 2 GB of ram and pagefile is about 2,1 GB...

Bättre pissa i stuprännan än stupa i pissrännan !

mac is good when we talking about lan adapter not a computer Winking

if u have ~1GB of ram best way is set pagefile to 2GB, i read teory that peagefile need to bes set 2x that u have of hardware memory, work very fine for me...

Well my point was on a normal session the moste it reaches is about 328MB, but when i let it fun for a while not using it the page files get out of hand. I have increased the page files to 3 gig but it still gets slow. No one wants to connect to a slow server, not even I.

Oh, and a mac will run the piss out of quake III arena, dont forget osX is still based off of unix.

well i do not have the problem and mine pc is runing 24/h day by day, meybe this is a problem of instaled software ?
