Demos of 1v1 fights & general questions.
Hello, I wonder where I can find some demos of 1v1 fights. I mean such a players like this mysterious ass kicking hard from swe an other awesome 1v1 players. I can’t even find SWE clan in clandb. After 5 months of q3 playing I am not owned by most players but I still see lack of skill to win all matches.
It would be great to see mouse movement of this players to set up similar settings. Now I have got something more like LEM*Bert but I guess he do not play 1v1 (it might be wrong guess).
Ok it was first topic second will be movement (left/right strafe etc.) I am pretty sucking on tdm and I get easily killed by most of players is there any catch?. How to move properly? Maybe some scripting exists ?. Nah I know that I don’t use nades for movement but it should be not that bad to fall with eff below 50%.
Next topic is ping, lagometer shows 20ms but in result table I have got about 58-63ms question is why?. I see players with ping equal or below 32ms and its ping in result table. Network settings as usual:
Snaps 40 or 30 % I tried both doesn’t make difference
cl_maxpackets 125
com_maxfps 125
rate 25000
Help from somebody side would be greatly appreciated I did all I could but I am not moving forward from this point or progress is really slow.

PS. Just last question 125Hz mouse is it limit me much or is it not big difference between 125 Hz and 500Hz. Just 3ms faster shots or there is more magic in this numbers?.

mouse sensitivity doesnt dependent only for q3 config but drivers+accel fix+mouse dpi, used mouse, usb rate ect.

its not about magic ms, but feel of mouse and some limit by bandwidth on 125 hz, oke i wont explain now cuz its to late now.
I took the liberty and compiled a selection of demos in a .rar (hope no one minds). They were all posted on the forum at one point or another so you can find them by searching/browsing through older threads.

AFAIK scoreboard ping is showing stats from server to u (DL),and lagometer shows stats from u to server(UL).

smth like that but not exacly cuz u cant got ping below 1 like i have on polish servers real ping is about 6-10 ms but not 1 or 0 cuz its just impossible. Anyway ping in lagometer is approximate and it depends on real ping + ur updaterate (cl_maxpackets) on 125 (max in q3) i have always lower than real, anyway is good to set possible highest value which can handle ur connection. Ping in scoreboard is more close to real but still its not that. It depends on tickrate on server, sv_fps. I wont explain everthing cuz we can write encyclopedia
About what does lagometer show:
line in top shows frames from server to U, blue means all is good, yellow - ur connetion drop frames or server has drop and this frame must be interpolated it causes warp of enemy models (there are some other reason why enemy model warp). Line is more smooth when server has set sv_fps on higher value like standart 20 fps, the best value is 30.
green place on bottom shows graphic ur latency (not ping!) from U to server, on it has influence ur cl_maxpackets (command which set how offen u send to send packets to server) the best like i wrote above is max value which can handle ur connection, anyway max for q3 is 125. When U see red spikes it means u have packets lost, ur upload drop packets from U to server, eh its prob which i have ;]

Flex u did explain my ping question that’s great now I know that my 12-20ms in lagometer it has nothing with real ping. But there is one question more so what lagometer shows? I read some explanations about line shape in lagometer but never about number itself I guess graph it is only graphical representation of this number.
500Hz mouse yes much smoother (I saw on crap mouse that support it mine a4tech doesn’t )so I can imagine that’s like jump that I noticed from unstable to quite-stable 125fps.
Accelfix sounds like u all guys doesn’t use Microsoft accel or even no accel at all it means shaking coursor in my case(I didn’t noticed it in demos any shaking coursor) , eventually very low sens that will forbid u from that fast mouse movement. Linearity is it really only way ?.
Ehh just monsters playing q3 or there is a catch, for now I will stay with Microsoft supported mouse curve engine called enhanced precision.
