I can not believe this..

It is so hilarious that you all are calling it a cheat.. it does nothing more than force enemy models does.

EVERYONE on XP can set colors of their enemies as well as set the model to whatever they want. This model does not make it easier to hit the person you are aiming at.

I use it, and you don't see me being instantly better do you? It helps my FPS to use this model instead of the more detailed q3 models.

The fact is, it is not easier to hit than the average tankjr model.. Look at oldvamps comparison and stop arguing about it!

If you think this is a cheat, then so is multiple jump, weapon jump, etc. These things help you move away from attacks that would frag you in baseq3.

It improves FPS, visibility, and nothing more. If you can't aim, you can't aim. This model does not improve your aim at ALL.

I Know from playing on the servers that a ton of people use this model or at least xpenemymodel and xpenemycolor. Many people talk about it.

HQ, you (and others im sure) take all the textures off your game when you play with r_picmip. Your screen shots show it. This model isn't as bad as doing that. You make it much easier to see anyone who is on the screen, so If I were you I wouldn't be calling this a cheat.

LoL, cool down, first; HQ isnt calling that a cheat, read the thrad again, 2nd, i agree with u, i just do differences betwen bright models like xp-models and "glowing"-models.

r_picmip is definately not a cheat, since it's built into the game. If someone wants to use it, let 'em. Everyone has their own preferences. I personally don't like it, because imo it kinda takes away all the atmosphere of the game.

So rpicmip isn't a cheat, but having a non-standard model is? That is nonsense and you know it. Quit agreeing with him just because you like him and stick to the facts. If you would use this model and see that it doesn't improve your ability to play the game, this topic would be about what it is, an improved skin for the model.

We are not talking about "cup" or tourney games here, we can use any model we choose on public servers that are for free play for anyone. If we were playing for money or a title, I could understand using as many default settings as possible.

The fact is, everyone tweaks their game in their own way. We are utilizing features that are built in to the mod, so it isn't cheating...
