Actually, there are zounds of different definitions for these commonly used terms. "Real" hackers, as described here are people with tremenouds amounts of computer skills, who are more interested in seeking and giving information to the general public.

"Chakiers", as they're called in Poland, are people who have an orgasm when they install a trojan on someones computer. They usually have a basic degree of computer knowledge, but more often than not are egoistic, complex-riddled idiots. Like that dude who hacked EVOL forums.

The term Cracker is usually applied to a person who specializes in breaking thru built in program security codes. Those would be guys who release all these no-cd patches you've been using

But it would be generalising alot, most ppl just use these names as they see fit. Whoever tried to hack Camel's server is just a little kid who got his first erection during the attempt.
