[(hopefully) solved] PB Integrity violation (again) on linux

Hello,

I just can't get PB running..

I had this integrity thing before with another number, changed the key
and then got another number which is why I wanted to start from zero
with the files.

Now to get absolutely sure nothing can be wrong, I deleted all config and q3 files, installed a vanilla quake 3, copied the untouched e+ files from the zip, installed pb and updated the pb game files.

After starting q3 I typed in my key, started e+ and enabled pb.
Then I connected to an empty pb server (german 1v1), to check if all works.
It shows me some cvars (snaps and cl_maxpackets) are bad, changed them and reconnected.

Connected again, and I am kicked for "Game integrity violation #20004", but to this time I changed nothing except the "visible" standard settings in the setup menu like name, video and player model etc.

In the console I could just see: Hacked cvar "name".

So I changed it to default and instead changed xp_name in the conf (nothing else).
Reconnected, now appears: Hacked cvar "xp_name".

Is this just a notice or the reason for the kick? (Sorry if it's a stupid question, I really don't know anything about it)

Anyone who could help me please?

Re: PB Integrity violation (again) on linux

I tested all with defaults again and it finally worked.
I don't get it, but it's the nick..

If I enter a name with "nano" at the beginning (didn't test something else in the name), pb kicks me. If I take another nick, all is fine and I don't get the notice about the hacked cvar.

Well, finally it seems to work..

Thanks for your support.

maybe server have some restrictions to name beginning with "nano" Big grin... meaning that it can be related to some aka nano named hacks ? Just guess..

The majority of people think they think, when really they just change their prejudices. Understanding is a matter of will in most cases.
