How important the keyboard is in q3?
I have an old keyboard and i noticed that since i've modified modified my mouse sens lower, it helps a lot on movements. So the qeustion is, how important the keyboard is in this game? It's a wise idea to buy an expensive one or are all the same? It's better a wired or a wireless one? And finally, what cmds are involved or useful for the keyboard ( maybe to have a faster response from it) ? Thank you all for the future advices.
i just want to add some one of my thoughts about keybord and mouse as the 'upgrades' for q3. my opinion is - thet mouse or keybord its like 20% of overall that makes player a good one, the last 80% is practice.
sorry for little offtopic.
Finally u start getting more basics of this game (about sens, not KB), hope other hiszy-like players will do it too and another mod players could play without any terror from randomshooters' side. I'm using wireless (radio) KB and i'd not recommend it for games, for entertainment - ye, it's cool, for games - at least my old model - no. But maybe new BT/WiFi models are very good
well keyboard has to be good in one way I know. the buttons must be easy to press, so they dont get stuck once in a while. sometimes I mash the keyboard buttons very hard and its quite shitty especially on laptop keyboards, that the buttons eventually start falling out and and the rubber underneath they key gets worn out.
so yeah, keys must be easy to press and they dont get stuck, thats kind of the main thing about how good must be the keyboard, in my opinion
Also like Gabber mentioned, wireless stuff isnt good for gaming, stick to wires, it might be good that for example wireless mouse doesnt get tangled when you're trying to do a fast 180° drag, but as far as I can tell batteries eventually run out and it lowers the response rate from mouse to pc.
23+ years Alps mechanical keyboard with ps2 adapter, works gr8.
i have a like 10€ keyboard, cheapest i could get in that store. i'd say for q3 there really isn't any need to buy an expensive one, i dont understand why there are expensive ones anyways. i saw a 300euro keyboard in my local store and i rly dont get it, mb for stuff like dota2 or sth?

for dota2 mechanical one works pretty damn gud
Keyboard is worthless for me if it is unable to read more than 3 buttons at same time. When i wanna go in upright direction, jump, change weapon in air, i don't wanna get stuck. Also i got those 2 binds.Alt = walkingTab = plasmagunAnd when i push those 2 together i minimize window :Eeee grrrMy keyboard has an option to block this alt+ tab function, which I find mandatory.
Logitech G-somethingsomething, dunno which model it was, but it was big Ass solid piece off keyboard. Very responsive, many cool functions...
And secondly Razer Lycosa, smooth design, responsive, light weight, overall good plastic awesomeness feeling. Xd but rubber buttons are not durable at all.
I use this keyboard http://steelseries.com/products/keyboards/steelseries-merc-stealth
It's not so expensive, it's lit and you have ALL the needed keys concentrated on the left side
Yeah, about wireless and and not stucked buttons stuff i thinked the same as you . My principal answer is about expensive KB ( i saw some KB at 90/100 euros) and if they really are useful in this game when compared to basic ones. Also i was wondering if there are some cmds useful for KB
