Well here is a little guide helping music <3ers seeing alot of ppl mainly R&Rers increasing while alot of confusing reviews out there the majority are biased nonsense.

Giving some light here as u see a random clothes carrying roughly 10 thousands as i remember , i hope this is the place to put such a pure (non-biased) reiew where false ones havn't yet invade that might be useful for my Eplussers mates before i hand em over and set em free

Summarily without discussing sound factors, impedance, rate and amplification :

considering most ppl distinguish (original source/high bit rate) from (copies/converted low ones) audio files,
There are 2 kinds of ppl , some search speed n ease , others search quality
I wouldn't be neither spending those (+10 grands) nor my time/effort if wasn't quality my only concern , but ofc limited under Portability

1.The ipods, i bound them together in one number cus i broke them together in one day and have nothing to explain more.
even the taste of the fruit (apple) worsened after i knew such a company.

2.The cowon J3 awesome enough (FLAC) but still needs +amplification to rival.

3.The Nw-hd1/2 The beast! i still remember the shock first time i used it back in 2004 , 20GB compressed ATRAC followed by the NW-HD3 ATRAC3PLUS with Mp3 and then NW-HD5 wider equalizer/navigation.
Best for ppl too busy to keep burning music / less music fanatics, more than enough space with sufficient decent sound and sexy shape.
*note: never believe that (mp3 > Atrac), its just mathematically true mute comparative statement!

4.MZ-e10, N10, N1, R900 etc (Std-MDs) Standard Minidisc Players or (NON HI-MD), moving to another medium another substance or call it the begining of [invincibility].
This is where quality obvious even for the deaf due to preserving waves equivalent to analog those never exist in digital, u can crystally record speech or line out from other devices in general, the only downside is the (Minidisc) period estimated between (74 highest quality to 320)Mins.

Lead by E10/Play, N10/Record, r900 overall.

5.finally, the real deal (HI-MD) equipments powerful enough for any earphone, unrealizable sound quality play/record, 1GB Hi-MD disc holds enough of ur favourite collections with superior quality.

Top of the Hi-MD line are:

MZ-NH1 Nipponsei
MZ-RH1 Malay

MZ-NH1 vs MZ-RH1 the winner for both record/play and between all mentioned is the RH1!

Now with a good (head/ear)phone that plays a good role here every combination u choose from above actually sounds different, i enjoyed the EX1000s IE8s and SE535s but tbh not as much as the (Audio Technica CKS77s), whole different taste so its my last recommendation with the RH1, get ready to appreciate every single euro spent on them and expect hearing new stuff u weren't hearing before in ur music.
note that the (ex1000 Sennheiser ie8 and the SE535) cost around $500 while the (more fun) CKS77 $100, and the bad news the MZ-RH1 at amazon costs roughly $1.5 Grands while it used to cost +2 grands , such gadgets really worth it although nearly quarter the price i had it from Japan.

About the rest forgot mentioning here, specially (DACs/AMPs) which i assume such built out combination =/= portable anymore, sure they don't worth it.
I've noticed some ppl's sensitivity toward the word Sony or Nipponsei idk the real reson, i built the review truly -u rarely might find- depending on a pair of (fanatic golden ears testing for years) expecting to accept my apologies if any kind of offense or bias it caused.
About the new Sony line (after the RH1) ... feel free to call them Ipods.

The bottom line, if you ever wanted (to listen to music u like or music in general or wanted to call urself a musicer) an MZ-RH1 wiv an ATH-CKS77 is the way to go cus u ain't doing so no matter what u are using/ever used ...
Neither with your PC nor your car or HT systems
At the very least ... any MD mentioned above is able to electrify you never mind the Hi-MD line at all!

Since i can't physically deliver the way the HI-MD sounds like, it's a little test recording the (watch with three clocks)!

The recorded file of the watch tick tock was from a distance between mic and watch 20x the farthest hearable distsance between watch and ear, and still appears more clear the in the device as in the ear!
the other noises are (the disc rotation which is 1.5 meter far and barely hearable + normal noise in air > neighbours activity)

* the clock in the file was edited resulting ticking tock change!
