Ok, the last 2 weeks I have been playing on ctf servers that do not have pb enabled , and I have noticed that the standard of players is very low. I dont mean with thier aim.(only because I couldnt find any populated pb ctf servers )
I love Ctf, and I know that server owners over the past have refused to enable pb because thay want to attract new players (hmm).
The servers I have been on, my game has been completely ruined because all the newbies are suddenly switching to the team that is wining and it ends up in 2 against 6 etc, and I have seen that.
The game has also been spoilt by a player using aimbot on more than 1 occaision, so the newbies decided to ALL join to the 1 team (real example) in which he just carried on team shooting in a space map.
I am trying to say to server admins, that it will not improve by having Pb disabled, they wont learn they will just carry on being oblivious to how to keep thier Q3 clean, and you are driving away the clean good players.
Oh By the way, you might think that Pb has nothing to do with newbies balancing teams etc, but the simple fact that a server has pb enabled they wont join.
The ONLY way they can learn is if PB IS UNIVERSAL IN ALL SERVERS.
LESS cheats, which is PARAMOUNT.
We have all had to learn about pb, and the simple things like staying in spec untill it updates(Yeah I know, very simple).
Server owners, do you remember that Mobile phone advert, about looking after the customers that they allready had?

foxy..suppose ur talking about capture the doener and capture the tiffs servers? neways i agree with what ur saying as far as the stuff about people ruining the game by swapping teams, aimbots etc...but i disagree with the pb part.. few people play ctf..the serious guys as far as i know are mostly in NWC and 2S (i love ctf so ill play a lot more of it now)...i see people playing a lot on nwc coliseum server..its pb on and admind really well from what i can tell...as for the people in the other servers theyre mostly new guys who arent really serious about their games anyway...

in any case u need to realize that there are a lot of folks out there who either cant or wont play pb on...the cant part for example mite stem from the problem i had...inadequate o/s privs..which really sucks..the wont part mite come cos theyre just not serious enough...in either case we need atleast some servers that are pb off and well populated...but the thing that does need to be done about these servers is that they need better admining...this isnt just about the ctf servers..take a server like deexs...fun server..lots of good people frequent it..so do lots of new guys...dont have any major complaints about it except it needs more active admins..people who can explain to the new guys the way things work etc etc...

if we had good admining on all the servers we wouldnt need pb on on any of them..only when admin has suspicions about someone cheating does he need to turn it on and check if the person is actually cheating...

Agree. But don't u want a big comunity, even with newbies that u mentioned?

Cause if u put PB , 80% of them will go on other servers, some of them will dunno what to do and some of them will put pb . But this means that will have less players, maybe some good of them will not have PB too .
I thought this comunity wants to grow and now suddenly u request to put PB on 1,2,3,5..7 servers that dont have and to loose above ( imo ) 30% of all players of e+ ? . Imo, first to grow up, ppl will understand this and after to enable PB and not on all from the same time ....

And btw if u see a cheater , from what i remember its a topic called " cheater report " , where wow u can report them ... ...

well, our zoo ctf servers (where ive seen you often recently are pb off atm. with our servers being quite new, theres a long to-do-list of changes/fixes.

were not sure if we need pb on our servers (at least our plus-servers), cause there are often zoo players with rcon and we like to see filled servers (plus ctf players are rare), but pb is an option and will possibly enabled in near future (though some other changes are of higher importance). so please be patient.

I think:
pb off for newer servers untill they build up some loyal patrons
pb on for older severs to protect their loyal patrons form cheaters

Hmm, yes some very good points guys . I realise that pb will scare of the new players that maybe using thier dad or mum's comp and they dont have admin rights etc etc, and I also know that just because PB is on it wont stop the guys joining the wining team and refusing to balance and teamshooting etc, but it MIGHT dissuade them in some way. We were all new to q3 online at 1 point and had to learn about pb etc, which is one of the reasons I made a topic in the suggestions section about having a purely dedicated section for PB questions, for the new players because there seems to be so many questions about it.
Sweet Ctf has Pb enabled but everytime I have looked over the last 2 or 3 weeks it has been unpopulated , I have joined in the hope that if someone sees that there is a player there, that they might join, but it doesnt happen ( apart from once)hehe
I really would like 2!S ctf to become more popular because its fun and not only that Mow is paying for it, I love ctf and I dont want that server to be taken offline, so please guys try to visit 2!S ctf more.

not true hq...i know of 2S and nwc both of them have pb and pure on...neways foxy if u see me online u can always buzz me and keep bugging me to come play ....neways just wanted to add something to what i said earlier...i used to play at the capture the doener and tiffs servers a lot when i started on e+ cos they seem to be the most populated servers...back then i didnt even know of the e+.net community..so making a forum for addressing pb issues isnt gonna help any of the new guys simply cos theyre not aware of the forum in the first place....also as far as im concerned those servers can do whatever they want..cos most of the time theyre filled with players so bad i wouldnt want to play with them neways...ctf is only fun when played seriously with folks who think about their game...leastways thats what i think...

u misunderstud me W. im talked about our server, ko server, and sinence we got it its pb and pure enabled (im think its more than atleast half year) and couse of that server stay always empty, it is ocupiet only when we do have traning or cw
