Pb_sleep is the command that controls the amount of time in milliseconds that Pb is not active between scans. Milliseconds? I can hear you say to yourselves. Well consider the fact of how fast your processor runs, if you are not following the point im trying to make do a Google search or 2 on processor speeds and related topics, then you will realise that milliseconds is real time for a PC and not seconds as us mere mortals operate in. The amount of time you can allocate to the command is between 20 and 500. Now this is where you will need to do a little bit of testing yourself, dependent on the system you have, i.e. Processor, RAM, will depend on the value you can enter into the command line. To give you an idea of what I mean on my old system I was running an AMD Duron1.2 with 512 SDR RAM on a 256 FSB and I found my best setting was 300, my new system is an AMD 2600+ with 1gig RAM on a 333 FSB and I can set it too 500 with no problems. How do you do this? Well when you are inside the game open the consol using the ² key on a French/Dutch keyboard or the ~ key on a British/American keyboard then type “Pb_sleep 500” or whatever value you are going to try, remember the default is 20 so it would make sense to go up in increments of 100 to find the best setting for you.

Pb_system is a command that controls the way Pb interacts and reacts to the applications and programmes around it. There is very little information available for this setting from Evenbalance except for that its default setting is 0 and that by changing the value to 1 by entering in to the consol “Pb_system 1” you can improve Pb performance if you have problems. The only time I found this setting to have a positive effect on my system during the game was if I had left Norton Anti Virus Auto Protect switched on and the Pb_system was set to 1, I later found out that there was indeed an issue between Auto protect and Pb and that Evenbalance recommended deactivating Auto Protect, I guess that if you do not feel comfortable disabling Auto Protect whilst you play this option would be well worth a try. A small point is that when you issue the Pb_system 1 command into the consol you need to restart the game for the setting to take effect. Once you have issued this command a new Notepad file will appear in your Pb folder containing the Pb_System command.
