Heres some minimum requirements for a server that i'm guessing would be good.
Processor: Pentium 4 1.5Ghz or better
Memory: 512MB or more (more memory=better performance)
OS: win 98 or later (would recommend XP)
I just made those up, my system is 1.4Ghz, and it can run it, but i rounded it up to 1.5GHz, 512MB is a minimum if you want to run the server and play on it on the same computer, I would recommend 1GB or having a seperate computer that DOESN'T get used. Also, you need a really good connection, you need a ton of bandwidth, and downloading kills the server unless you have a seperate connection. My suggestion would be to just rent one, because it is too much time consuming, and would cost a lot more money to run one at your home. If you do want to run one at home, I would suggest around a 10mbps connection or greater for like 10 players and no lag. People who connect to it from far away from you need more, so if you don't have a good connection, it could lag the server to hell.
I would also suggest a Core 2 Duo for a server(maybe a xeon?), core 2 duo's are good at multitasking, so if you want to use the computer and run a server, it would be better then on a pentium 4, because you have 2 cores.
Good Luck m8, PM me if you need more help or if you have questions.

do u know about what are u talking?
"I would also suggest a Core 2 Duo for a server(maybe a xeon?)" - ur experience and knowledge are low, for example on p4 2.4 ghz + 1GB ram were runed 13 q3 servers and one q4. eh anyway its sensless write more rubish from ur side, when some ppl will read it like good tips or faq about how to run q3 server.
lol yea. that was funny!

its more a question of not using conjecture and guess work as a means of answering someones query alias. thats just foolish tbh. ud help him a lot better by pointing in the right direction for advise or not saying anything at all.
alias ... dunno what to say, we got exactly the same discussion once in another thread, flex is right here even if it sounds a bit hard how he brings it up here ...
just for example smth i found before some mins ...
/bind x exec modchag.cfg
In modchag.cfg:
seta mod "mod1"
seta mod1 "set model yyy; seta mod mod2"
seta mod2 "set model zzz; seta mod mod1"Don't know if this'll work, its just a guess, or you could just bind x to your model and bind y to another model?
Again you dont know if this is working, but i ask myself why are you posting then ? ... fact is you have a good will to help ppl but not enough knowledge to do so, its clear that when you always post that unquallified answers (and sometimes even wrong ones) that ppl come and say wtf u doin here ...
Just try to inform yourself better next time if shit's working + right if you really want to help, cause only then its a help, otherwise its just making noobs more noobs cause their talkin that stuff to their friends and other ppl who needs help.
I love it how when I try to help someone and I make a mistake, everyone bitches at me and tells me that i have no clue what I'm talking about and that I'm 100% wrong. Thats a really good way to get people to leave this community, by telling them that they are wrong and stupid everytime they try to help. Just my opinions on how to run a good server, maybe I won't help next time since I dont know what I'm talking about.
Oh, and @flex, that a suggestion, and its rare that a suggestion can be wrong, so i do know what I'm talking about, I just think a server would run better on a xeon or c2d.
