Leaving E+ For a Break - What Do I Need To Keep?
Hey guys,
I've been playing e+ since end of December and it seems now that I need a break - I've literally played every day since then .
I'm planning to uninstall Quake 3/e+ and don't know what to keep a record of so I can easily get my binds etc when i re-install. Do I just need to save the main CFG file or is there other things that need to be done?
I don't know how long I'm gonna be offline but it's sure to be more than weeks, its gonna be more like months, possibly several months. So to everyone who knows me (probably all people who hang out aim freeze),just like to say see you all later and thanks for making me at home .

why not simply keep whole q3?
if u didnt spam ur q3 with maps it should be below 2 gb, which is... like nothing.
but yea, u just need the q3config.cfg out of ur excessiveplus folder.
thats simply... dont leave us
Han
As I told you, just save your cfg ( the cfg in your eplus folder) you could also print it out. I mean do both not 1 or the other
I said my goodbyes on the server, I dont wanna get sad again.
Regards
PS you could also email your cfg to a reliable friend to keep for you, so then you have 3 backups
deleting just baseq3 folder should help when time to return will hit, install q3 to this folder again
p.s. "dont leave us" - was good idea
see ya soon ! youll come back anyway.
I have been "leaving" quake for some time now (link), I started to do it more than 2 years ago, but i'm still here. There are just a couple of differences with the time back then: I have a more stable aim now and I am not addicted to it any more, I play when I want and don't want it so often. And I just have 3 days to play quake now, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Once you stop playing quake you will start to spend same amount of time you spent on playing on visiting the forums or talking to your quake mates . Don't do it .
Ok, and now what you need to copy: 1) all your own configs if you have any, if not then copy q3config.cfg, 2) Mouse settings in windows (make a screenshot of pointeroptions), 3) settings of special programs for your mouse if you have any (for example setpoint)
cu Han
and have fun [i could be a b-boy :E]
on holidays
PS. BACK TO US
If I keep it installed I'm gonna get attracted in playing it.....and I WILL!! . It just seems that I've got quite addicted to e+ over the past few months and also I've been playing superb one day, and suck the next. A long break will give me the world of good
Thanks skull, han.
