Well, looks like I'm bored... So I'm reloading my machine. Kinda a spur of the moment thing. So hopefully this will just take the night, but figured I'd leave a note in case something gets fucked up and I don't see you guys for a couple days.

Don't worry I backed up my config XD (as well as EVERYTHING else on my machine).

Hope to see you guys again in a few hours.

Phew...

12 hours later and I'm almost finished. (I'll be sure to make a backup when I get everything straight, lol...) Got a few more things to set up/config... but mucho improvemento.

Hell I had to back down my sens and mouseaccel cuz I was all over the place due to the reload (still don't see the connection between 'em tho?? It's kinda like when you play a 16 bit DOS game on a 32 bit OS... that's what I was experiencing... odd. Anyone notice that kind of thing when moving between stronger and weaker machines?)

Found the "Connection"

Well... get this... (and this WILL apply to ALL Q3 heads)

Apparently my problem of being "all over the place" stemmed from what I USED to have the mouse speed set at in windows compared to what the windows default is (it defaulted back due to the reload).

So my point is this:

You can say you're running whatever sens you want. BUT if you have your windows setting for mouse speed set at anything other than default, your sens, most likely, IS NOT a true value.

To check this: START>CONTROL PANEL>MOUSE then MOTION tab (or similar)

If you don't have this set in the middle (the sixth indent from the left), then you're not seeing a TRUE sens setting. (However, I previously set mine to 4 (4th from the left) and got used to it while using sens=2.5 and mouseaccel=.08 (Obviously this is not what someone else would see if they had thier windows mouse speed set at default and was running the same sens and mouseaccel as Sleepy).

Obviously NO ONE would change back if it wasn't at default (that is, if you're used to it), but just keep in mind that when you're telling your friends that "this sens setting is better than that setting" or "try this sens" that they very well could be seeing something quite different than what you are.

(A little FYI for the day...)
