winamp works with streamripper fine, why on earth would u change Winamp since u can give it all the looks in the world?

As for win customize, I'd say Window Blinds (but beware it can make new msn crash if u dont add it as an exception in settings).

pidgin alternative: miranda

win customize: none, i use windows blinds and my pc sux, bad decision that i regret and dont recommend even with a gd pc. i hear that other programs like stylexp are not much better.

antivirus: avg free. i never scan my pc though

windowblinds rock but ist not free. for exemple i can use gtkradiant when aero is active. no slowing down for me.

i use avast for vir, its free.

Yes use gimp

for editing images ofc: photoshop - or if you mainly work with your digital photos - lightroom (works the same as photoshop when you open a RAW with it - just much easier interface)
