Mouse Rate

Hello
I have a Logitech MX518 and I'm using a Steelpad QcK mousepad.
I have a problem with my mouse rate.
- Why is it capped at 200hz with PS/2 and 125hz with USB ?
- What does mouse rate really affect ?
Thanks for your answers.
See you

Change ps/2 rate is impossible, u can change usb rate. My suggestion is: connect ur mause to usb, use Mouserate Switcher and change rate to 500 Hz (it's optimal for logitech mx 510/518), reboot and HF

I highly doubt your ps2 mouse can handle >250 hz.
Thanks - I searched the forums yesterday, I got through the whole "off topic" section because my search with keywords "mouserate", then "mouse rate" didnt work...
PS : huh i dont see no program or whatever to increase my mouse refresh rate there...
thanks a lot
