MSN MESSENGER 8 ( BETA)
im using 2 miranda at the same time, because i prefer the old miranda irc protocoll and look in irc, while the new one for icq/msn/jabber.
best IM ever
Too many bugs and not optimized programmingcode in this version + slowing my pc down like im running Prime95 + Autocad on same time..
what for bugs have MSN ?!? never seen bugs on msn
Then u probably havent used it for long ,] In my MsN career which lasted for a year,I noticed at least 10 different types of bugs, the 2 biggest, most often and most annoying were:
1. When u have a long conversation, after some time the scrollbar in the window which shows the text of your co-talker gets returned to half of screen or further so u need to scroll down every time he/she writes something.
It was very annoying in multiple conversations when ppl write alot,so every time u scroll down someone would allready write something - and OOPS,ure back on top again.
Annoyment level: 10/10
2.When u try to send an attachment your co-participant cant see it.The only solution is for you to restart MSN completely. It happend very often.
Annoyment level: 9/10
Not all bugs are graphical visible but Ratz already mensioned some of them. The annoying is that MSN 8 runs slow like hell. The code is not optimized and use too many resources also called coding bugs..
Another thing is the security prob in MSN 8 beta and there have already been launched patches for closing some of those holes. Who knows what else they forgot when they launched beta 8.
Should be called Alpha ver instead of Beta with that many bugs
miranda is fully customizable.
you can dload your own smilie and animations etc.
its better in all ways than msn, for example, this is what i have on mine:
interactive keyboard flashing: when i get a message and im not focused on miranda, my lock LEDs start to blink. you can program the way they blink, btw.
full logs on everything.
low memory, cpu and connection eating (for example when icq looses connection it starts to eat over 50% of cpu). msn is a connection hog, on the other hand, often causes lags when people connect/disconnect. no such thing with miranda.
well i could go all day, but no need. who wants to use msn will use it. who is frikin annoyed with it, will ditch it in favour of something better.
That sounds like the difference from Linux vs. Win by the resource usage.

Patch it
I use msn 7.5, but sometimes i use windows messanger because of how much ram it uses. MSN 8 is probably the worst messanger out there, it uses around 64mbs of ram, and 7.5 uses around 13.
OMG MIRANDA xD . miranda is only chatt, you can do nothing more i think.
coz , no animation and it look boring for me ,,
