Hello.
If some of you finnish people can translate a song for me into english, I would be very thankful!
The song is "Kuolema Tekee Taiteilijan" by Nightwish.

Quote:
Kerran vain haaveeni nähdä sain
En pienuutta alla tähtien tuntenut

Kerran sain kehtooni kalterit
Vankina sieltä kirjettä kirjoitan

Luojani, luoksesi anna minun tulla siksi miksi lapseni minua luulee

Sinussa maailman kauneus
Josta kuolema teki minusta taiteilijan

Luojani, luoksesi anna minun tulla siksi miksi lapseni minua luulee

Oman taivaan tänne loin
Anna minun päästä pois

Something like:

Quote:
Only once was I able to see my wish
I couldn't feel how small I was under the stars

Once I got bars for my cradle
I write a letter as a prisoner from there

My god, for your sake let me became what my child thinks I am

In you the world's beauty
From where death made me an artist

My god, for your sake let me became what my child thinks I am

I createed a heaven of my own here
Let me get away

Although it was pretty difficult, since saying stuff english usually requires more words.

Perke is a God of thunder in finnish mythology if I'm right. I don't remember specifically, only that it is a God. Perkele means "The Devil" and is another name for Satan and a swearword

dude, even wikipedia is more up to date than u are Laughing

Arrow Perkele is a god in Finnish mythology, whose identity was that of a God of Thunder. Perkele was referred to with a variety of names, including Ukko, meaning "an old man," and Ylijumala, meaning "the supreme god." The name is of Indo-European origin. Related gods are known in Latvia (Pērkons), Lithuania (Perkunas), Prussia (Percunis), Poland (Perkun, Perun, or Perkwunos), Russia (Perun) and Slovenia (Parkelj).

With the spread of Christianity, the church co-opted Perkele for one of the many names of Satan, eventually turning the name of the god to a swear word. Today, "perkele" is one of the most common Finnish expletives. Perkele is also the name of Swedish Oi! and ska band, known for their incorporation of skinhead themes such as pride, unity, and acceptance.[1][2]

Sure, and everythings 100% correct in wikipedia.

Anyways, no one uses it to talk about satan or "God of Thunder". That's ancient history. If you ask a finnish they say it's a curse. Confused
