yo

when im playing q3 / qlive / cs or what ever from time to time(i guess like once in 2 mins not sure though) my fps drops down to 7 fps for like 2-8 seconds and my latency jumps to 150-200
i already scanned vor viruses and eliminated few bishes. after that the games run a bit smoother but the big fps drop still happens.

any one knows how to fix it?

I have same fps drop in cpma shaft arena \Wave
In other mods its playable buut..
Maybe some problems in your hardware?

dont think so the problem started at monday before it was fine and laptop hardware shouldnt crash if u move laptop from one room to another F:

Maybe you tweaked your video card ?

Safe Mod:

But if you tweak it and make bigger Mhz, it can happen that it will do big FPS drops from time 2 time in q3, i believe..

You Triv & Nixin, should reset these settings to default or Safe mod.

i would first uninstall and reinstall graphic drivers

(of course, system specs would help in this situation)

hm.i.remember.i.had.before.some.analogic.fps.drops:

125->60.fps.when.2much.explosions.in.my.view.
Or even.when.i.walk.through.a.shot-mark.when.cg_marks.1.,my.fps.still.drops..

It.was.ATI.RADEON.x.1050,128mb,550mz/600mhz.
But now i use.Nvidia.GEFORCE.8500GT,256mb,600/1200mhz,and.it.works.smooth,wery.

When.iwas.kid.i.had.geforce.mx400,64mb..also.was.smoothh.

CONCLUSION: i.am.not.expert,but.i.tink,te.fps.drops.are because.video.card.doesnt hhave.a.cooller.on.it,or..te.clock-settins.are.2small...like,compare.550mhz.with.1200mhz.or.higgher.

ALSO because ofsome hhardware tat.doesnt.work.optimal...f.e: even your mouse.tat.was.set.up.on.1000mhz,can.lag.your.q3.game..Any.small.eror
