Narrow view? No, it's plain experience. Q3 bots are extremely stupid, and follow simple patterns. If you play too much with them, you instinctively adapt to those patterns, thus making your own game more predictable. Unless you practice aim on dm17 with gauntlets, it's better to just play online.
edit: this is especially true to E+, where bots don't have to go around and collect items, they just roam between armors and powerups.

We have tested with epsilon yesterday and was hard bot.
4 sneakybot (level 4) vs epsi+me = 15:0 in 6++ 
and 15:3 in dm8
they were making teamcamp and gangbang lol.
He is definitly very sneaky.
Wanna avoid seeying mow, skull & co
