new headset
Would be easier if you tell us how much money you gonna spend...
Guess what i got?
I know u got them bish...but the problem here is that I dont have them...but hopefully thats gonna change soon
It is deffinetly a smart investment,to buy headphones on which u can exchange practicly any part...if u buy for example phones for 60-70 or even 80 euro and cannot replace a part which died on u,then ure screwed and have to buy new phones.
First of all 5.1 headphones is pure marketing bullshit, though fanatic 5.1 users will try to tell you something else, no offense
If you want to 5.1 headphones works in 5.1 mode you need 5 pairs of ears But since you probably have only 1 pair they will never work in 5.1 mode. Regular 5.1 speakers is completely different story and there 5.1 system is possible.
Like ppl said above, first say a sum of money then we can give you advice.
Another myth is "headphones for games". There are only good and bad headphones. No matter what you use it for. On good headphones music, movies and games will have amazing sound. Therefore you should always buy them in ordinary music store not any crappy gaming store.
You find many good producers like Sony, Philips, Koss, Sennheiser. Still last ones are considered to be most reliable and above 30-40 eur every model is nice. Not to mention high-end models for 250+ eur.
Also you need sound card if you want better sound. Headphones on their own are far not enough. Even cheapest additional sound card is far more better then usual on-board crap.
Headphones in reasonable prices, unless you are some sick audiophil , are Sennheiser HD 205, HD 215, HD 270, HD 415. More expensive ones are 515, 555, 595. One of them is going to be my choice when my Koss's will die.
Best thing to do is go to some music store or even Media Markt try them all and then make a choice.
Best for game and good for all
Quote:But what about the headset you ask? Well I have to say it is one of the best headsets I have used for in-game audio over my old Sennheiser 485’s, my Audio 110’s, PC150’s, and the Icemats I have tried.
biggest bs ever, they sell cheap speakers which got luckily a bit incrased sound on the frequenz where footsteps are played for 50 euro.
@van
i for myself run fine with a hd555, its rly good to hear any silent noise, but on another note, due to its low ohmic resistance u can also hear ur mouse moving in windows etc and no volumen control on the headphones (which are bad for the signal imo)
buy some sennheiser or beyerdynamic headphones not some headset crap even if its from sennheiser bcuz the quality of good heaphones are 10000 times better then any headset
i have the sennheiser hd 595 and im realy happy i did buy that one
i didnt say that medusa has same 5.1 effect that some 5.1 speakers connected to dvd player... i think u never used some of them on bass tests your head is getting nice massage.
i have 5.1 headphones, and i have to say that they dont give true surround sound, sometimes its confusing to find where the enemy is...but i'll tell u somethin, the bass on them are awesome cos they have 3 speakers in each ear cup, makin some damn nice sounds more for entertainment rather than gaming, but they work for me
For 150 euro I would start looking for used beyerdynamic models...dont order online, cause u should deffinetly try them out first. And Van is deffinetly right,if u have onboard crap audio it will affect your audio quality pretty much.I took a used sb live! 5.1 card for very cheap money and am very satisfied. The difference compared to realtek integrated crap is HUGE,to say the least.
ok thanks for your advice i dont know how much i want to spend for a good headset in the moment...so i will see
but i won't pay about 250 € or something.. i dont need a headphone like dj's have maybe it will be between 50-150 €
