OMG!!!
Can someone explain what the purpose is, skinning a living animal? I can't understand it. I've heard of flaying, scalping, and even stories of captured soldiers being skinned alive as "punishment" (Back in the Afghan-Soviet war, propaganda or not I don't know). Group processes and prolonged stress during extreme war-like conditions is known to produce bestiality. But what causes, I presume, civilians to act like this ? Moreso under peacelike circumstances.
Would be good if someone could comment some on the cirumstances in the video.
EDIT: To clarify, the instances of skinning I gave as an example atleast have some basic reasoning behind it, e.g. to act as punishment/deterrent. While this seems pretty, well, meaningless.
It really seems so that life has some sort of anomality....and its scary....
But life might be anomaly or how it is spelled...but each person itself can make it look normal... I mean by acting correctly, with manners, respecting all living creatures...it might be better for the person...feeling embodied in nature...
However issues like cancer are paricularly controversial, as there is nothing only black and white...... Cancer is in my opinion one of humankinds disadvantage of developing science and technology...But that partially again, as cancer can be created by the body itself by some mistakes during gene multiplication or whatever...however these mistakes are again disadvantages of science.... -.-' Confused....
Back to topic... I am truly against fur clothings and so...I mean it is not really necessary....its just looks "nice", but the synthetic one too!!
The sickest people in this story are those PETA morons.
There they were watching this happen and did nothing to stop it.
Just so they could get more money for their organization by showing this to squimish people.
PETA really makes me sick.
(and no this post is not sarcastic)
Actually take a look at this one logically:
1. Skinning an animal this way is stupid. You will almost certanly damage the fur, either when you beat up the animal by slamming it in the ground, or when you try to skin it alive.
2. Easiest, fastest, and most secure way to skin an animal is to just slit its throat, then skin it while its dead. Thats how its done actually, because fur is very delicate (a friend used to have a chinchilla fur farm).
3. Each of those workers will do aynthing in his power not to damage the fur, cause damaged fur usually means his family is starving this month. So, they will under no circumstances intentionally slam the animal in the ground, or skin it alive. Too much risk!
4. So we have a bunch of PETA memebers come to such a fur farm in china, they tape the workers killing the animals peacfully, and non brutally.
The tape is not shocking, its something most people seen already anyway.
5. Non shocking tape = no money from donations.
5. They know that each of those workers earns 100$ max a month. So if you give him 500$ he will do whatever you want.
6. So PETA pays the workers to torture animals, and tape that torture.
Notice how close they are to the scene of action, if the place was really that closed and no access like they said, they would had to do the recording from outside the farm.
8. PETA puts the animal snuff video they made on the NET.
9. A bunch of western people go: "OMG look how cute its eyes are, and they are torturing it, oh noes!"
10. Those western people dont really feel like doing anything about it, so they give money to PETA to do it in their name.
11. Western people feel better now that they given money, PETA rubs their greedy bloodstained hands, workers on the farm feel bad until they come home and see the happy look on their kids faces when they learn they can eat some proper food.
Doesn't this scenario seem a lot more logical than the "worker risk his monthly pay just so he could torture some animal"?
Good point, Foksie. I never liked PETA that much either. They're just too militant and even do things they denounce themselves.
Ur scenario doesn't have to be true, but it could be, it's realistic.
I think every (mentally healthy?) lifeform's motivation to live is survival and reproduction. In the end everything leads to that, profit such as gathering might are only ways to get there. Don't think the world is cruel, maybe some humans are, dunno, but mostly it's that easy.
Video is nevertheless totally sick.
They skin the live animal so as to not damage the fur which is to be worn by well off people in our wonderful countries. Apparently traceability of fur is not as good as it should be... Ah good old profit...
They start by smashing the poor animal around to break its bones and knock it out but it rarely does either of these things. They then remove the fur and throw the still living animal on a pile of other still living skinned poor things. Pretty horrible.
Couldn't sleep last night. Kept thinking about why life is so cruel to itself : cancer, cats toying with half alive mice, kids torturing insects for the fun of it, viruses attacking other live creatures... Lead me to think life is an anomaly of some sort, an aberration . Which doesn't help our problem but removes faith in humanity and/or existence in general. Very disturbing.
