Post Graduation Studies in Europe
A friend of mine wants to apply for PG in Europe. She has done B.Sc from Mathematics which is a 3 year course. A prerequisite of many of the universities in Europe(except France and Italy,I guess) is that you should have completed 16 years of education. So my query here is are the universities flexible at all regarding this 16 year rule because in USA(wherein also they have this 16 year rule), some universities do accept students with 15 years of education if you convince them or you have a good CV or good LORs(Letter of Recommendations) or you have done your graduation from a good University.Oh and is this rule also applicable to the European students? Since many of you are students there I thought you guys would know.
Thanks.
i have to confess i never heard about that rule, but im pretty sure, if its concerns only 1 year anyways and if there's recommendation, it should be no problem, the system shouldn't be too strict in such questions.
i base my answer on my own impression concerning "strict" rules in german universities, they definetely make exceptions. ofc that doesn't really answer your question but i'd be optimistic.
In France, you can study at university when you have the baccalaureate, that's all, no matter how many years you are studying.
I dont know about such rule at least in Hungary there is not.
No such rule in the UK, well, not that I have heard of. All that matters is you have the required qualifications and are genuinely enthusiastic about the subject you wish to study.
Actually I forgot to write, the German universities are more strict than any other. Maybe it's because of the high number of students who apply for Germany and the level of post grad studies which is really good there.
