Problem with Fancy_Blinking nick names writing

Hi there Quakers!

I have a problem writing inside quake 3 arena with fancy nick names!I will try to analyze it!

I use Qname first and after creating a nickname i make a txt file,i write inside the file the command : seta name "nickname"
After this i save it as a cfg file and put it inside the main baseq3 folder.
When i go to inside the game i write in the console /exec filename.cfg and then i have the problem message saying : unknown command 's'

Why doesnt it recognize the command?

I tried replace the name in q3config with the one i make but when i use the non-classical font writing it replaces them with question marks!

Any suggestions?

put it in e+ folder (if u rewrite the name in q3config.cfg make sure u do that in e+ folder too)

I tried putting it in E+ folder too but i still get the same unknown command message!When i overwrite the q3config the problem is that it doesnt support the non-simple font writing.When i save the text and reopen it i have question marks in my name! Worried

Well i found a similar topic in client configuration and finally managed to make it work.It was an encoding problem.I found a good editor and changed the encoding language and made it work.Thanx for your help guys.Much appreciated.

Alex K although i solved the problem i will add to my msn list. ;)Happy to have a quake 3 player in my list! Winking

uh ^f and ^F are flash and ^b ^B are blinking and ^r and ^R are replace...solved Big grin
