Problems with monitor in q3

I have some damn problem with monitor during the game. It sometimes becomes absolute black! It doesn't switch off just becomes black for 2-3 seconds. I have the same in other games but only in the beginning and for 1 time. In Q3 this shit can be up to 5 times per 1 map!!! In the beginning of the game I think such thing happens bcz of another resolution. But why it continues longer and only in Q3? It' s very annoying when U are running and suddenly the monitor becomes black (especially if enemy is near). May be somebody knows?
P.S. I installed new videocard's drivers (and also more old versions) but all the same.

it looks your monitor slowly dying. Its time to start save some money to new1. I had similar problem with my crt. But i had to turn off monitor by button, wait and after that again turn on.

dunno if in this model is same issue like in my 4850 but i needed to change fan speed to instant 50%. Its hardware issue in my case - memory cant stand more than 50 degrees. If u have guarantee - try it.

no Beazt it isn't dying bcz it was all the time I had it. just before it was a bit more rare and wasn't so annoying. and this shit only in q3 so looks like may be some problems with cfg
