you can run q3ded even client in bsd linux abi it works perfectly
or just cd /usr/ports;make search name=quake3
(if you really wanna native thingie lets *compile* it)

I suppose Linux point release should work properly on a BSD system too.

There mite occur some binary unknown or some other problem. Im not too used to thiz BSD systems but anyway to my knowledge there are some tools to get rid of this sort of compability issues

better to use native port since is available in ports (in stable branch)
