Q3 loads very slow

Hi everyone. My quake starts very slow and idk why. I double click on xp_singleplayer, then, it loads those things and after that I get a white screen. It stalls for like 1-2 minutes and then I see the ID logo video as it's normal. What to do in order to fix this stall?

Laptop: Sony Vaio 3D: VCPFX215FX/BI with 1TB SSD Samsung 850 Pro.
Mouse: Logitech G502 Proteus Core.
Pad: Logitech G240.
Keyboard: Logitech K800
Earphones: Westone ES5 Custom IEM with Emerald Green (Envy) Faceplate
Line out Dock: Whiplash Elite Micro TWag V2 Eclipse w\Oyaide plug
Amplifier: Pico Slim Silver
Music player: iPod Classic 7th Gen 160 GB black

remove cheats Tongue im joking,just reinstall q3,fresh instalation always help Winking before that save your cfg and put it in newly installed quake and rock on

check ur .pk3 amount Winking

only played maps should be in there, rest is useless crap that will reduce loading speed

I had " a long timed white screen" while my videocard had high temperature. So, check this out also.

just for information, white screen on q3 load is caused by pb waiting for timeout from pb server. It tends to occur if q3 is blocked via firewall or something, renaming pb folder fixes it since it enforces no pb for q3.

Hi guys, thank you all for your helpful comments, I tried everything, but nothing worked. I think it might be due to my OS that needs to be reinstalled. My specs are also not great, 512 RAM, AMD 64 3500+ 9400GT videocard and yes, a WD 640 GB AALS Black Edition HDD. I appreciate your helpful and friendly comments and I will reinstall Windows today and let you know if this fixed it! Thanks again!!

your specs are more than adequate (you can run q3 on 213 with little ram and low spec gcard)

first thing i would try is delete all r_settings from your cfg then let q3 load it up with defaults.
