best speedruns i thaw are those:

Half hour half life 1. ( http://speeddemosarchive.com/HalfLife.html#hardscripts )

Half life 2 speedrun.

Halo 2 speedrun (dont underestimate halo communty, u might check out highspeedhalo.com (imo thats the site, didnt look up)

and, if u belive it or not, diablo 2 speedrun

some uber mofo managed to play whole d2 within 4 hours, normal nightmare and hell!!!.

i strongly recommend if  u download this1, go for second audio track, its the maker and some guy from speeddemosarchive or something watching the stuff for 4 hours discussing about it, telling stuff about d2, very informative. (the end of it is like, b saying to a: thx for spending 4 hours with me on... nothing Big grin )

really poor one terror, they do use godmode and playing on easy lvl... u should watch q2 speed run they do much more amazing things

they dont use godmode, this video is very old and very nice, and q1 is the best;)
btw there are better video now

when they grenade jump or rocked jump their health does not drop, watch the movie i did posted and look how does it looks a like when settings are normal+nightmare

when the guy jumps from the head of the daemon at the end of episode because he need to run the machine 3 time not just 1, or when he rocket jump on quad damage

i have quickly assumed they must use godmode but it might be that they only turned of self damage, witch makes things a lot easier not talking they playing a easy lvl

they actually solved the game the fastest way possible, its like defrag, there is no faster way, ofc they dont have selfdamage and no teamdamage cuz hp doesnt belong to this speedrun.

exactly, this topic says "Quake 1 speedrun" not "most impressive nightmare skill normal settings quake1 run" xD
Those 2 guys are doing great teamplay in finishing q1 faster way then 1 player is able to do.
And Q2 has slowest gameplay in whole quake series, i hate it same like q4.

it had slow gameplay, but things changed with new release, and u probably haven't checked it Smug

btw i have trained speedruns on q2 myself so i know what i am talking about Winking

imagine not only turning of selfdamage but add there e+ grenade luncher and bfg Happy then this cloud be done faster and all is about fast run ain't it?

doing hard things impress me, going easy way ain't
the official record on easy lvl is called little or something and the official time record was always at nightmare
