HMMM HERE IS WHAT TO DO
go to catalyst options, find profiles for quake3 and change, or EASYer .. you JUST SET THE "CATALIST AI" to OFF ... that should help

other... Download Ati Tray Tools, go to oGL section, find LOD-BIAS and decrease it to 0 or less (that is usefull if you fucked up all the drivers, settings registry etc)

i have no glitches with my radeon 7000 and i use it without drivers

Yeah! Hey Dude! Well I Can Say THat I Have Same Problem! I Have Asus X850 256Mb Series And I Have Grafik Problems Aswell. Iff I Change The Color 16bit etc Or Something The Grafik Goes Nuts :\ I Have Uninstalled The Newest Drivers And Installed Once Again Older Drivers Not Tested Yet though iff the problem disappeared but It seems that Newest Raedon Drivers Seems have problems Whit OPENGL! I Say Like The Rest Off The Guys Try 2 Change The Drivers To older once. I used diffrent Asus Before only 128Mb Card Whit Older Driver then the quake did Runn Smooth.
