Ranking system proposal
After some days working with this, i came up with an idea: why don't we use that system as a basis for an automated ranking system? The process would look like this:
1. Before starting a cw, the referee issue a /rcon g_log [official_log_file_name.log].
2. After finishing the cw, the referee put g_log back to normal. Also, he contacts the server admin to give the log file to him (or maybe to the clan leaders).
3. There are no problems with warmups: they are ignored. However, if there are fake game starts, the log file should be edited and those games must be removed.
4. The referee must pass the file to someone in charge of uploading the log file, wich will upload it latter. In case of clan leaders, maybe we can make it more automated, as a system in which the same clan leaders are in charge of uploading the log file and the parsing would take place only when both uploaded files by each leader refer to actually the same log.
Disadvantages:
- Requires rcon access to the server.
- Server admins need to be more active.
- Handling of historic data (previous wars).
Advantages:
- Automated process.
- Updates in real-time.
- Less typing needed.
- More accurate stats.
- Individual stats will be available too.
After a week or two, i'll be somewhat idle, so i'm willing to invest some time on creating a customized version of the vsp system and add the following:
- Users and sessions support. Maybe i could use a CMS to help things out.
- Clan registration process (i would prefer to use the data of clandb, but i'm not sure if that could be an option). However, the registration would be pretty fast and no data of the players would be needed because it would be parsed.
- Clan parsing support based on team numbers (kind of a weak check, but adding more checks would slow down the process a lot, so the ones in charge of uploading the log files must be very careful).
- Clan ranking and stats per year and gametype.
- If i can get the code or binaries, add support for fancy names.
However, the following things are also needed, and i don't think i'm the most qualified person for those:
- Creating an special and more strict skills definition file: Maybe be more strict on team events (score, wins and loses), and punish suicides and teamkills.
- Writting a new special theme, maybe bundle it with the CMS. The current theme is not even XHTML and it's somewhat old - however, it works as espected.
Honestly, i hope this project could, using zmb*kid's words, "fertilize" at least a little bit this community.

chrono from EN suggested something like that ages ago, he collected already something like a coder team for that. failed @ rena.
destined to fail, dont waste ur time anymore, jog on like big boi.
I say go for it E+ page had some stats on frontpage long ago if I'm not misstaken.
F1?
Release the VSP stats first Then if everything works out right, add features like the ones you named above
I also need to say this might be some huge work behind the system you're thinking of, having some help could help you a lot I suppose.
Nice to see poeple who still care and try to do something for this community.
It's too soon to say if this is worth ur time (like trance already pointed it out ), but if u really have nothing to do with ur free time, than go for it xD
I will keep my fingers crossed.
... but it propably (hopefully) will be trashed when new mod arrives

Beast,
It will be easier to attack from the flank. It's a rare gamer who is not narcissistic about some facet of his STATS.
Start small... by posting WASP Wars on the Ranking Forum with a link to the full war STATS. If that doesn't spark an interest nothing will.
GL m8.
Isn't it already released? VSP
