razer synapse
this is a bit of a random bitch and moan topic, not bothered as i adjusted to it already.
So long story short, i had some usb issues with another device (xbone controllers micro usb kept disconnecting) and my mouse stopped working, it was bricked. after reflashing the firmware i got it to work again, except it refused to work with the old driver i had installed. so im forced to use the new cloud synapse driver.
i notice they removed the sensitivity control, now you have 1 option and thats DPI
before
after
ok, so with ms sensitivity on 6, and no way to change sens in the driver, i have to lower the dpi to make it useable. This also means redoing my q3 cfg so the sens is near to what it was before.. what a pita
but i wonder why they removed it, and is this a blessing in disguise, was i actually getting that 1800dpi before? i guess not. was that sens setting screwing it up (for everyone!)? cant seem to find any sites talking about this.
anyway, i made a few new cfgs to try some different settings, yaw and pitch to 0.011 or 0.006 and dpi to 1800 only when i go to play q3, even on ingame sens 1 its still really high, but i'm performing better than before now.
so what are your thoughts on this setting thats now removed. was it a bad idea to begin with?
Why do you have to lower the DPI to make it "usable"? For sensitivity in Windows? Otherwise I guess you can just adapt your in game sens. I personally don't use any Razer software, it adds all kinds of filters which I dislike. I suspect Synapse is super annoying too. I'm not sure which DA version you have but earlier ones had issues with negative accel on lower DPI and worked best in native (highest) mode.
Isn't sensitivity at mouse control is same as windows? I had razer in the past but never had this option to control.
Edit: I doubt something wrong with the brain of razer company policy makers, cause of course it sucks to have less options to control yea! and I noticed that with recent and by more recent drivers they publish, most ridiculous is when switched from regular drivers to this synapse thing.
what about to download older firmware and install older driver? BTW i thought my razer deathadder 1800 (second generation of DA) died (side buttons were randomly active). After some time i connected my old DA to the notebook for customers @ job. I didnt install any driver and it works without any problem.
My recommendation: "never update firmware on any gaming device". It causes problems

Not sure if uare using this http://donewmouseaccel.blogspot.com.es/2010/03/markc-windows-7-mouse-acceleration-fix.html , but i do and it helped me since i had DA 3g old version 1800 dpi, i have it set to 450 dpi, win sens 6, mouse acceleration fix, sens 1 in game and then yaw and pitch acording to my preferences (35cm for 360º)
I usually had to install driver to set up a set of DPI then uninstall the driver again to avoid it's negativity, I had a double click issue, now I fixed as it was a broken plastic at the button, but am having terrible experience with negative accel and some other weird stuff going on with mouse, also yes, as I enter quake and switch DPI I have to wait a while till the mouse become stable.. sometimes more than a map or two.
now I am back to wmo 1.1A and I think it is of the best choices cause all I have to do is hock it up and then good to go..!
I never missed around with pitch yaw sens etc, just never had mind enough for them, but do they really help? what the use of them? can one form an explanation with few words why the there is a need to adjust them?
And thanks Darky, I heard about that MarkC once but forgot the name, maybe I should try it and see if my Imperator would work fine again.
Logitech rox guys. only once you install drivers, save settings into onboard memory in the mouse and you dont need ever install or change settings again. windows 7? 8? 10? install whatever you want, your mouse settings is still the same! even without any drivers!
I had two razer mice. Diamondback magma and 2nd generation of DeathAdder. When i reinstalled OS, i had to install driver, load mouse config and then i could play. Now i just reinstall and play. how easy... no setup, no driver, no shit. remember about it
its the first gen 3g, 1800 model. by usable i mean its way too sensitive unless i lower it. even on 1300 i move the mouse ~3cm and its the other side of the screen. yes, adapting ingame sens was unavoidable, not what i wanted when i was just trying to fix it, but better in the end if im no longer using 'bad' settings.
i did manage find something on this topic after posting this actually:
http://www.urbanterror.info/forums/topic/19939-razer-deathadder-3500-dpi-on-the-fly-sensitivity/
an urbanterror (quake mod) forum nontheless, nerds they say about it causing interpolations, which makes sense. wish i'd understood this 5 years ago.
i think i remember skull saying he used this mouse with max dpi and sens, on a crt? for someone i believe had a low sensitivity, it never made sense to me how he controlled windows with it this high.
i put off installing the cloud based crap for years, but i have no option now. i see alot of people dis-like the drivers and remove them, but i dont have such issues. just wondered why they removed functionality.
