hi all,

well LOL, it's all in the title.

when I /exec hyper.cfg ingame (cfg that contains "seta xp_name "mytag"" and "seta xp_country "sa""), my ping jumps from 60ms to 110ms and suddenly it feels totally unsmooth.

125fps/0% packetloss though.
it feels warpy exactly like if I had packetloss, my model's moves are kinda sliced/shaking in every direction and the enemies warp aswell.)

help please... XD

you guys lucky im here today to help fix ur problems .

anyway , reload ur original cfg , and try changing xp_country see what happens

then copy ur tag from the and paste it in console too xp_name ???? (CTRL+V)

if u find the same problme , then change the server

if stil the problem i only can wish you a good luck

thanks for your reply.

I just found out that the problem occured after beer freezer's daily restart, I had to /reconnect, and the lags showed up after I reconnected.

I already deleted all my q3config.cfg files and retried with virgin ones but still had the same issue, so it's not down to my configs.

so the exact problem is:
when I'm wearing my tag and /reconnect, it's fucked up.
(it will work fine if I'm wearing my tag as long as I don't /reconnect, I will need to close the game and come back.)

ps: my tag doesn't work when I copy/paste it into the console.

try that :

/exec hyper.cfg
/in_restart
/reconnect

works for me ....

ok, I noticed something:
when I /exec hyper.cfg, my settings are automatically set as follows:
/rate 10000
/snaps 50
/cl_maxpackets 30

...WTF?! These settings aren't in my config file ><
I can't even go back to the normal settings once its exec'd!

I tried to add the correct net settings into the .cfg file but it didnt change anything, it keeps stuck as above Confused

edit: I got several other .cfg files with different tags (same content as the hyper.cfg one, I mean name and country) and they work just fine.

do u have the "hyper.cfg" twice, with different content, probably in different folders?

just a guess - with hyper tag ur cfg exceed cfg-file-size limitation (16kb) and it just override settings from default cfg.

doc could be right, check if your cfg doesnt exceed 16,2kb dont remember but I think its the maximum, by execing your tag cfg you adding additional bytes of code into original cfg that may exceed it.

or you not fit in hyper clan, leave it Tongue j/k

thanks for your replies.

nope, I don't have the "hyper.cfg" file twice, but I have another .cfg file named "hyper2.cfg" with the black tag into it. (works fine with "hyper2.cfg")

both .cfgs are only 1kb (only 2 cvars), and my q3config.cfg only weighs 9kb, so once I /exec'd hyper.cfg it's supposed to be roughly 10kb.

I guess I'll just leave hyper, looks like it's the only solution Big grin
