s_ settings for soundcard and headset

Hi
Today i bought usb card: Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Go!
and headphones: Creative Fatal1ty Gaming Headset
Music sounds awesome! Bass is such deep and all is clear.
In quake3 sound isn't nice anymore. Bass looks to deep and wasted, high tones are not such loud etc.
Can someone help me in settings? My config have:

u will get used to that overbass soon...
i have the same headset
with time the sound will become to sound normal for you.

im actually saying there is no way to fix the sound via quake3 or software settings.
if u ever have a sennheiser on ur head u will recognise that.

the only thing u can do is to get something like a equalizer, dunno if something like this exists, never tryed to search.
i have a onboard sc. Asus P5B is the name of the board, dunno what sound it is.
the advantage of our headset is, u hear now bfg noise very good 
(spot enemys)

Ok but anything about commands in cfg?
@skull - i am not asking what hp set i need to choose cuz as we see it's already to late 
For sure it is not best but i am looking just for good configuration of cfg

Im of course not sure what card etc you used to have, but mow is pointing you in the right direction, bfg and rail hum are prominent with better sound equipment, basically quake 3 sound is crap and your better card and headphones are showing you so. and displaying is unbalance.
Again semi quoting mow, there will be some equalisation software with your soundcard, just adjust the balance of the sound to you preference, but imo get used to the sound you have and hear that rail hum as much as you can
as to lag, i don’t know if there is a connection, but don’t get me started on lag
