Sensitivity Question.
Ello,
I'm getting incredibly frustrated with my sens changing. I'm pretty sure its the damn computer and not my hand suddenly becoming more sensitive after averagly 2 weeks on one particular sens.
I've got a crappy Logitech LX3 optical mouse and have their setpoint software installed. The thing is, you can choose both the sens from windows control panel and the setpoint software. Each time my computer comes out from sleep the sens appears faster but when a fresh restart is done, it's sort of ok. This might be truth or my head winding me up.
Untill now, I've always changed my sens via windows settings/setpoint and have me q3 sens stuck at 2.0. I was wondering, is it possible to make windows sens and q3 sens independent i.e. so changing wins sens doesn't change the gameplay sens in q3?
Btw, i'm using vista - don't start asking me to install XP 'cos i don't have it......my previous computer was 7 years old running Win 98.
Thanks,
- han.
well i have had a similar problem once, when i started my pc and tried to play quake my sensitivity was fucked up, after restarting it went again ti usual...
i think i fixed it by changing the windows sensitivity from my sisters pc or soemthign like that !!!
if u have another account on it change it
Few tips , never chance sensitivity in windows , but always disable accel in windows , and just buy a microsoft intellimouse or wheelmouse there like only 10 euro's , then you dont need that setpoint crap just patch them to 500hz and your always good to go
Microsoft mouses are mostly crap. Only the old version of ie 3.0 and the WMO 1.1a are good. For ie 3.0 IIRC u need 1000 hz to reduce negative accel to minimum.

huh, ur serius? cuz basically that doesnt make sense.
HQ wrote an extensive review on the 3.0 here
every do know this mice has really pissing on negative accel, yeah… hate that, on 125Hz is so big that u feel like u moving u hand in water… situations changes when u use 500Hz then its get seriously reduced to a moment when u barely feel it, and this mouse is only 1 where I do see a sense of using USB at rate 1000Hz cause it makes negative acceleration feel bit less than it is on 500Hz, but u must remember negative accel is till here and u cant do not much about it beside turning on positive acceleration in q3
just wondering why ratz prefers old version over new.

Yes I've seen this setting and was trying it out. Tbh, I would get rid of setpoint all together however I use my scroll (side to side) as a bind and without setpoint installed, the computer doesn't recognise it. My problem is that the mouse control panel and setpoint both interefere with each other. even though there is a setting in setpoint to choose which implementation I want (<---- it still doesn't do much).
Never mind, I'll just have to live with it.
