Server - problem with internet availability...
Hello..
here's the issue... i have made an excessive plus server dedicated internet on windows xp. server was working fine and it was visible for all players around the internet, but suddenly (!) something did broke (?!) and now, no matter how much i try (i was trying everything, including reinstalling quake3, changing router and net connections, etc ...
... yet still the server is visible only on local - of course my server has +set dedicated 1 all the time!. I don't know why.... quake 3 server's brower nor excessive plus spider doesn't see my server, though they have seen my server earlier. Why?!
i have reinstalled all: quake3,point release 1.32, and e+ patch, yet still the server is available oinly on local even on pure default setttings...
what did i do wrong?.... please help me guys... im newbie in making q3 servers and i completely don't know how to fix it...
i will appreciate your help guys...
i'm attaching my .cfg file...
on local - of course my server has +set dedicated 1 all the time!. I don't know why....
1 is for local lan server, when you use 1, server doesn't send heartbeats to master servers, so use 2 (and you have to use it in starting command line, not config, ie. "quake3.exe +set dedicated 2 next args")
next thing you can try when server is running:
http://www.excessiveplus.net/query/yourpublicip:portofyourserver
if it doesn't timeout and you have dedicated set to 2, it should work (being listed in spider, also take into account slight delay, spider doesn't refresh its database every second)
otherwise you have issues with configuration of your router or your isp is blocking some of your traffic

i've changed to +set dedicated 2, and now it works fine (at least for now)... quake3 server making's tutorial which i was using have an error, author says 1 is for internet and 2 is for local... from now on i'll never trust in 100% any author of any tutorial again
thanks for help guys.
