how to make server visible in q3 multiplayer server browser? Any suggestions?

Apple Mac mini M4 + Apple Magic Keyboard + Logitech G603

Where is his website :roll:

I'm trying to get the Evil server to appear in the in-game browser without any luck. It can be seen using gamespy, the spider on this website, but NooooB wont be using that to find servers.

btw as I remeber EVIL servers had some port changing based on firewall, and it was working preety well, whats happened with it ?

Thanks Camel the link works now, so i will look around.

Well Evils 2 servers were on Borats company server in Amsterdam. He has shut them both down now (End of August) so GBH
clan (Killertron) has let us use his until we can find another. The servers worked well on Borats system. He used some script in a file called crontab.pl that for some reason started a 2nd instance of a q3 server with a different port number to the main server. This somehow kept the Evil server in the ingame browser and also towards the top. Not sure how.

Our current server is ftp access only and has a control panel. But that shouldnt stop me setting it up properly. Although, if modifying the crontab is required to get the game in the browser, i might be stuck.

I used to have ssh2 access to Borats servers so all was possible.

I have the same problem with my own homebrew dedicated server. But your sollution is not clear to me. Probrably only for evil server or some, because the link goes to a page with tool etc. but i already have a good server. I use Zone Alarm pro, use a modem (livebox) and a router (D-Link DGL-4100 Gamers Loung Gigabit). All the ports are open ( UDP+TCP 27950/27965) in my router. Zone Alarm has the quake 3 file allowed as server. I use ioquake3 and excessiveplust. etc.

masterserverlist:
seta sv_master1 "master0.excessiveplus.net"

My server also does not appear in the ingame menu and spider.

does anybody have a serious sollution?

I have read all those threads that have the word visible etc in it. but how do i know it is my port that is hidden???
