Servers Connection Problem
Hey guys hoping there is a network tech savvy person to help me , so yesterday I decited to buy my own modem instead of paying extra monthly to the isp , I did my research and decided to go with the arris SB6190 , so I called the isp they got its mac blah blah and it was connected.
I test every website , everything internet connection related and everything works fine Except Connecting to the e+ servers, now before this I had my router setup is been on for about a year is a Netgear Nighthawk X4 R7500v2 , Again before this modem everything was fine so I figured it has nothing to do with the router.
So I called the isp and they just rebooted the modem from their end , and I rebooted the pc and it seemed to work , play a few games then I take a break a few hours later I try to go in again and again is not connecting , the weird thing is from qconnect when is not gonna work it tends to now show all the servers , but it does show mostly all of them but when I connect it stays on awaiting challenge.
So I figured well maybe there is some compatibility issue with the router , and I tried with the modem alone , same thing , now on this modem there is no settings to port forward anything , so again I gave it another shot and I port forward on the router , and it worked , I didn't restart my oc or anything I just set up port forward on the router from 27920-27999 and it worked , that was yesterday I play a few games on beer . Oh and I know is gonna work because when I have tried to test this settings and somehow sometimes it works the qconnect software loads all the servers normally like it did before this new modem .
Now this morning I try to play again so I run my qconnect and same shit again , partial servers show up I try to connect to any of them and awaiting connection stays on forever without connecting .... . WTFFFFF
Any help would be great , some1? thanks 1
check shit like firewall, port forwarding, even though it should'nt matter to outgoing connections, you should also try check the router webpage, my router has something like this
accessed via network & sharing center on windows 7
edit:
you can access router webpage by entering the DNS server adress in your browser, you can check your DNS server adress by going to network connections>status>details
what about firewall?
Yes that is where I set my port forward , ports are set
