It's not the old threads that are a problem anymore, as long as they stay dead. It's the constant spam that shows up here (in other words: the countless blue "new post" icons that lead to threads with boring chatty nonsense) that keeps most people away from the forum in the meantime. It's getting exhausting checking up on new posts... it's pretty much like skimming through my email client's junk folder looking for false positives caught by the spam filter. Get an IRC channel up or something.

Being that I am the moderator here. I feel that people can type whatever they like. It does not always HAVE to be Quake related.

That being said feel free to post here if you like and if you don't like what you see/read. You don't have to read it.

What is written in any other public forum does not affect me, unless I click on the link and READ it.

It affects everyone. You don't need to read through every spam mail you get in your inbox for it to effect you. I don't mean to flame you or anyone else in this forum, I'm just trying to explain why it bothers me and others so much. You asked for opinions so there you go. Happy

Did you write this in all the subclan forums that have some threads about none gamerelated? because then you can start write most of them now.

Another thing that its public is true but people decide if they will click at the FL subforum or not to go here. If its public then peoples also the right to stay away if theres something they dont like.

3rd maybe start cleaning the "General Disguession" section first. I see only annoying threads about cheaters, statsfakers and whos got birthday. More peoples will also visit the "General Disguession" more because it counts for the hole e+ but this subforum its peoples own choice if they want to enter or not. And its up to the peoples comming here to bring that fun they want with them.

When i wanna have some fun with you i go here and do it and when its your little area so called village then its also up to you and the guests to decide what they will speak about. And once more again if a person dont want to read 1 thread or maybe 2 then he dont click at it. If he dont want to read the hole forum then no point in entering. If he dont pay attension and dont care. Then it should be np. If he think it have influence on the hole e+ then we should look more at the sections like "General Disguession" and "Off topic" witch peoples does visit much more than this little forum.

Nope, none of them have nearly the 3000+ posts that this forum currently has. Happy

I don't know how not clicking on the threads will change anything about the "new posts" showing up on the update page like spam in an inbox, but ok. Apparently we both agree on the junk in the General Discussion forum. Happy Whatever, you're right, it's not my position to tell anyone what to do with their forums. So spam on everyone, have fun!
