Software for demos..?
Hey guys...
i see alot of people posting demos of people cheating and of their own cool videos.. but the majority of them i can not play with quicktime/media player/realplayer
what software do i need to see demos?
seismovision, www.planetquake3.net and u can download this
You need Seismovision to play the .dm68 Quake demos.
LoL omg !
To watch the demos u need only 1 softwer and its Quake3 1.32 with E+ mod.
Just download the xxx.dm_68 demo file !
Put it in the Quake3 / excessiveplus / demos >>forlder!
After start Q3 load the E+ mod !
After do to "demos" menu in q3 and load the dome ! But whatch out to see the demos u have to got the Map where is the demo played !
Good luck !
oh ups
Exactly. The .dm_68 files can be viewed in Quake itself.
c:\program files\quake III arena\baseq3\demos\the demo here.dm_68
If you can't view a movie correctly that's probably cause you don't have the right codecs.
I suggest downloading divx or xvid codecs. They usually are best.
Yes you can start them from within Quake as well, but I find Seismovision to be more convenient. Once installed, you can just double-click demos files in Explorer, you can have Seismovision load custom configs, etc.

Thats good ! i didnt know it yet. But i gonna tryout ! thx to me too
i try play .d68 files or what ever they called with seismovision, and it comes up with an error to update something.. but i can't find a update
I don't know much about seismovision. But have you tried to play them with quake itself? It could be that the file is corrupt somehow?
For instance c:\program files\quake III arena\demos\filename.dm_68
If there isn't a demos folder you can create one.
When you placed the file into the folder open quake. Press on demos and select the one you want. Then you can view it.
If this doesn't work press on mod first and select e+, then go to demos and select the file.
thanks guys, i'll try that and report back
